Which is for you the hardest skill in handstands / the skill that may take longer to get?
Hi there! My name is María J. and I am from Spain. Today I saw Yuri's video saying that you may spend a lot of time kicking and never get the handstand and that was enlightening. I have always been told that with practice, I will eventually get it. But, you know, I always remember Jay Park (a South-Korean rapper and dancer) saying that if you don't pay attention to the technique, to the insights, to just end up practising your mistakes. So, Yuri, thanks a lot for your realistic approach. Glad to be here, in good company. Most of my hobbies I do it alone (not lonely, though), so it is nice to have people to share this journey with.

Welcome maría J!
Day 1: scapular shrugs and pushup march
Those were harder than I expected. I was focused on technique, so I did only four / five reps in a row to keep the movement clean. (I have done them before during pole lessons warm-ups, but instructors are more focused on reps than on technique). I could have increased the range of motion in the shrugs, when pushing and going up (sorry for my messy English) and I felt my shoulders where a bit too close to my ears. My march was also a bit messy, but slow enough to keep exercise clean. Shrugs: https://youtu.be/ysaCAipS50s March: https://youtu.be/wnZ2xqAPhXI

@Stav Tihonov it is fixed now!
Hello!
Hey everyone — Sam Hoebel here. Based in Kansas City. I’m getting into hand balancing and calisthenics as a complement to my main training, which is primarily weight lifting and running. Excited to learn and build a solid handstand practice!. Question for the group: Curious how others structure their overall training — what’s your main form of exercise outside handstands, and how do you balance it with handstand practice?
