Stackable Systems
Hey guys!! I wanted to really break down how I’m currently running my stackable systems, what’s happening in each tray, why I use dry buffer trays, moisture, feeding, fluffing, etc. I also talk about the traditional way to run a stackable system and why I personally prefer not to run mine that way. There’s nothing wrong with doing it that way if it works for you, it just wasn’t my favorite setup. I originally learned the dry buffer idea from Patrick at Vermicompost Learn by Doing (great channel on Youtube, check him out), and I’ve really liked using it. It helps catch some of that excess moisture coming down from the feeding tray AND starts conditioning that cardboard for when it eventually moves up through the system. I also show a couple of my little DIY stackable systems because you definitely don’t need a VermiHut to use the same idea. I tried to make this one pretty detailed, so hopefully it helps if you have a stackable system or have been thinking about trying one! 😊 And when it’s actually time to rotate this one again, I’ll make sure to show that process too because it’s WAY easier to understand when you can actually see me do it. 😂
