These competitions will help determine the senior athlete rankings used to qualify for upcoming international Pan American and Olympic Games selection events. 2026–2027 QUALIFIER DATES Qualifier #1: November 21, 2026 Qualifier #2: December 19, 2026 Qualifier #3: January 16, 2027 Location: Charlotte, North Carolina�Venues: UNC Charlotte Campus and surrounding competition venues HOW THE RANKINGS WORK Athletes will earn ranking points at each qualifier, with their BEST 2 OF 3 RESULTS counting toward their overall Senior International Ranking. WHO CAN COMPETE? All athletes are welcome to compete! However, these events will feature Senior Division competition only. All participants, regardless of age category, must compete under Senior Division rules, distances, and obstacle course requirements. Three competitions. Two scores count. This past weekend kicked off the first Regional event of the year at the Peachtree Pentathlon in Atlanta, GA, which saw its largest turnout to date with more than 40 athletes competing, including international athletes from Ecuador. The energy was high as athletes across multiple divisions began their season and tested their fitness early in the year. In the Senior Women’s competition, Rebecca Langrehr took the top spot, followed by Cassandra Steptoe in 2nd place and Ingrid Mayer rounding out the podium in 3rd. The Senior Men’s race saw Temirkhan Sabdenbek claim 1st place, with Luke Filar finishing 2nd and Hayden Marrs taking 3rd to complete a strong opening podium for the season. While competition was heating up in the U.S., several American athletes were also competing internationally at the Hungarian Indoor Open in Budapest. Tristen Bell advanced to the Finals after finishing 11th in his qualifying group and posting the 2nd fastest Laser Run of the round. Phaelen French, Mary Zoldak, and Jordan Towns also competed against a strong international field, gaining valuable early-season experience, but did not advance. Congratulations to all of our athletes for kicking off the season with strong performances both at home and abroad. The road to an exciting 2026 season has begun!

Hello! My name is Jackson Hazen, I am a 23 year old based out of Mechanicsburg, PA, and I am interested in learning more about the sport and getting started. I have a background in distance running and swimming, having done both throughout highschool and college, and I am curious about how I can learn the other disciplines, like lazer pistol and fencing, and if anyone has any tips for someone who is brand new to the sport. The podcast covers event recaps, rule changes, historical perspectives, athlete interviews, and thoughtful discussions about where our sport is headed. It’s an authentic, athlete-driven voice that adds depth and energy to the modern pentathlon community. One of the most powerful things we can do as a community is support initiatives that grow awareness and tell our story.
