Hi everyone! I'm Sammy or Sam and I KNOW I'm so late to the game, but I thought now was a perfect opportunity to join the community as I'm going into my very first week of full-time performing arts with Patricks School of the Arts! I have been lucky to train with PSA for the last 6-years in the Academy and Professional Development programs. In my time here I've learnt so much about the performing industry but I'm ready to take it more seriously as an adult and in fulltime. I'd love for my career to take me around the world in Musical Theatre or dance and some of my dream shows are Cats, Newsies, Singin in the Rain (literally anything tbh). I aspire to push myself and become a swing/dance captain on shows because I love the idea of being helpful to cast and creatives. A goal for this year is to be careful, rest and not overcommit myself to too many things. I'm afraid of saying no because of the implications it may have on my reputation so I want to learn that saying no is okay! I find that because of overcommitment, I've been the subject of burnout and injury (some taking me out of dance for 6-9 months) so taking my body and health - physical and mental - seriously this year will contribute to later successes! Hiya, my name is Mia Mackintosh (she/her). I'm in my third and final year of my Bachelor of Music Theatre and Acting at the Arts Academy in Ballarat. I find so much joy and passion through dancing and my biggest inspiration for performing is highly likely to be from my favourite childhood movie, Burlesque (any other Xtina lovers??). I want to develop my confidence in singing for auditions, I'm often comfortable at home practising and in lessons, but my nerves have been taking over in audition performance classes, impacting my voice. My goal I'm determined to achieve is to strengthen my mindset for before and during performing a song. I love what this community is about, thank you for having me apart of it Taylor.
