I’m trying to restore this old radio for a client and I wanted to make sure everything is wiped down correctly before I start to seal things. I can’t find wax wash, is there anything else I can use instead?

Hey everyone! I have stripped, cleaned, & sanded with 120 grit, sealed with 3 coats of dewaxed shellac, then sanded w/150 & 220 grit (both with a block & a sponge). I did wipe everything down with denatured alcohol as well. There is a staining on the edge of these doors and I am not sure why. It is smooth & not sticky or raised. I did try a coat of a water based stain and it’s still there. What did I do wrong and how can I fix this? Any help appreciated.
