What is your favorite thing to write about or use in your writing?
We all have our got to things in life. What is the one thing that can't help but creap into the things you write? Do you know yourself enough to pick out that one thing that always shows up in your writing? For myself, I think it its certain words like, nevertheless, still (as in yet, which is another word), and 'That being said'. In some ways, I think it must be because of my faith in God that there is a Christian theme in my first book, which is acatually Fantasy Fiction. You may be able to pick up on a salvation allegorie in my first book even though I hadn't planned it.

I write about everything. I particularly like to cast a different perspective or direction of image or thought. Create feelings that are overlooked. Sometimes it's about what is there in front of our eyes but often taken for granted or overlooked. Maybe it's just me I see and think different. I love it when humour shapes a poem aswell. I have so many amazing pieces unshared. I think what I have shown so far is nothing close to my unshared work x
When you're a writer, does when you write, feel like writing to you?
It shouldn't. Think about it. When you read something does it feel like you're simply reading stuff? Or, does the story come to life in your mind? That is how your writing should feel. As you are writing, your mind should be playing it out like a movie, so that the reader can read it that way. You should see the actions of the scenes and make the words come out that way. This may seem like a no-brainer but if you want to become known for your writing, you have to write the way you see things in your head. Now, here comes the tricky part. Read your own writing and if it doesn't flow like a scene from a movie, or feel like you are reading a movie script, you need to rewrite it. Remember, if a picture is worth a thousand words and you are a writer not a director, your 1000 words need to paint a picture. So, make it a moving picture and you will have a masterpiece. Your thoughts?

Most of the time I have to run and grab a pen quick. I don't think I just write. Other times I like to research, extend my vocabulary or even play around with words. Poetry, stories, quotes, verses just fall in to my mind. A lot of what I write I like to leave as it is as that the way I wish it to be heard. Other times I'll add or merge 2individual poems together. I have no control. The mind such a powerful tool xx
Are you a poet?
I'd like to hear about your poetic journey. You can talk about or post any poem to solicit feedback, if you want. I'll start with one of mine called "The Fall" Note: For the record I only use the pronoun "He" to reference God because it is the public norm. I truly believe and understand that God is gender neutral (after all he has created all of them). If you like you can replace "He" with whatever pronoun you prefer as you read the poem. The Fall By Zane D. Dowling I saw a leaf fall to the ground one cold forbidding winter’s day. This death so slight yet so profound, Brought pause to think on life this way: How quick and frail this life I see, If once this leaf in time must fall. How long ere when this leaf is me; till life doth yield to death’s harsh call. But with more thought I understand the mysteries of this cold world, I cannot know as mortal man such things till life's flag's unfurled. So I travel through God's love song And when I fall, for sure I must, as each of us must do ere long I’ve faith in He who’s made me thus. I'll sing His praises all my days, and submit to Him all my ways. .

Hi everyone, so I didn't realise I was any good at writing untill only 7 years ago. My first literally just fell from the sky id half completed it then found it weeks later and finished it. After that I'd get thoughts, words phrases in my mind randomly. I put pen to paper... I love imagery, I love different styles of poetry IE stanza, rhyme. I love prompts. Or freestyle anything really.

A New Poem
I was inspired to write a poem in a new poetry community I joined and here it is. By the way there was an extra bonus (of what I don't know) if you included the phrase: I almost didn't say this... Of the three submitted so far, mine was the only one the owner of the community commented on. He said, "Nicely done. I like that" Please let me know what you think. ā€œA Life, A Laugh, A deathā€ A laughing child turned to tears A scratch, a bruise, and life’s long fears Was it all worth it, to run headlong Writing such a strange... echoing song I almost didn’t say this, but in due time I found an old picture that has changed my mind When it’s all said and done, and I am dead Will it matter what was in my head A picture paints a thousand fears A laughing child turned to tears

I love this. Leading the reader in one direction of thoughts and memories by what you write and also what the reader can relate to in life...then bending our direction of thought and questioning the solution. What will matter when we are dead? I like it a lot.šŸ™
