New category added!
Exciting news! I’ve added a new category called “Mechanic Tips.” This is where I will post things I think would be helpful or even dive into things people want more help with. Feel free to DM me if you have anything specific you would like me to breakdown in a post!

Love the organization! Looking forward to seeing this category grow...it’s going to be a great resource for people like me who are learning. 😊

@Hogan Randell Best way is to jump dive in!
My first Mechanic Tips Post!
I thought I’d start the same thing that got my social media so big… and that’s the “Mechanic Tips series”. I will post things I do on Instagram and video from YouTube that I think will be helpful. I will be making long forms and link them in here or post them in the classroom to look at! I can’t do a “carousel style post” like I did on Instagram, but I thought these were still very helpful on here! Comment what you think or if it would’ve saved you some time in the past :)

As someone who’s definitely not mechanically inclined, this absolutely would’ve saved me time. 😂 Instead of immediately taking my car somewhere, I’d at least know what to check first and be able to have a more informed conversation. Looking forward to seeing more of these!

@Hogan Randell Awareness is key!
So... Who am I and why does this exist? 🤔
If you don’t know who I am… yet — my name’s Hogan 👋 I’m a licensed mechanic with over 5 years in the trade here in Canada. I come from the cold, unforgiving East Coast of Newfoundland, where we survive on snowstorms, stubbornness, and questionable amounts of maple syrup (yes, the myths are true). Somewhere along the way of fixing cars for family, friends, and now thousands of people online, I realized there was a huge gap in car knowledge — and people were getting absolutely cooked because of it. How did I even know I wanted to do this as a career? Honestly… I have no idea 😅I didn’t grow up in a garage, didn’t have a mentor, and didn’t even have cars to work on. I just became weirdly obsessed with cars at around 10 years old. Like recognizing make, model, and year from across a parking lot obsessed. That obsession eventually turned into my social media pages (32k+ on Instagram), where I break down car stuff in the most condensed, no-BS way possible — because nobody wants a 20-minute explanation when the answer should’ve been 30 seconds. The reason this community exists is simple: I love talking to people about cars. A little too much, honestly. I will talk your ear off, and at some point you’ll probably regret asking me a “quick question” 👀 But this didn’t come easy. Being a young apprentice sucked. The work was hard, the learning curve was brutal, and caffeine basically became a food group 🤣 I’ve broken things, failed more times than I can count, and yes — injured myself along the way. But over time, I stopped being just a mechanic and became a technician — someone who thinks, diagnoses, and actually understands why things fail. That’s where The Mechanic Mindset comes from. This isn’t about gatekeeping, ego, or flexing knowledge. It’s about helping regular car owners stop guessing, stop getting burned, and start making smarter decisions — all while having fun and sharing a common obsession. If that sounds like your vibe… you’re in the right place.

Okay, now the obsession with identifying cars across a parking lot makes a lot of sense. 😂 Thanks for sharing your story. Looking forward to learning from someone who clearly loves what they do.

Welcome! Introduce Yourself + Share Your Ride 🚗
👋 Welcome to Garage Logic! Let's get to know each other. Create your own introduction post and tell us a little about yourself: 📍 Where are you from? 🚗 What do you drive? 🔧 Why did you join Garage Logic? 🛠️ Is there anything you're currently dealing with, fixing, shopping for, or trying to learn about? 📸 Feel free to share a photo of your vehicle too! Whether you're here for advice, second opinions, maintenance help, buying guidance, or just want a mechanic in your corner, you're in the right place. My goal isn't to turn you into a mechanic. My goal is to help you make confident vehicle decisions and connect you with a community of other vehicle owners doing the same. Looking forward to meeting everyone! 👇
