Announcing a new collaboration!
I'm very excited to announce a collaboration with @Jane Harbison of Pocket Square Club https://www.skool.com/the-pocket-square-club-3733 to create a red cabbage natural dyeing tutorial! There will be 3 short prep videos, and we will go Live Tuesday April 21, 4:00 MST! Here are a few photos of the colors you can get with red cabbage!

What a fun project to work on. Count me in!
Latest work
I pressed a leaf I collected on a walk some time ago. I scanned it on the weekend. And then made this fabric pattern with it. I wanted to see what it would look like on a pocket square.

What a lovely idea. If the group would like to learn, I could do a class teaching how to print with actual leaves/flowers on silk to create their imprint.

@Melissa Gill yes, I am talking about eco printing ! And I’m sorry, I have been doing a class with Jane in her Skool group and I made the comment because I got confused about what group I was in! But happy to also figure out how to do a class in this group!
Coffee hour is today!!
I’ll be working on some embroidery projects, so come on by and say hello if you can. 😊❤️🧶🪡

@Melissa Gill I am going to stiffen into sculptural shapes. The complication is I am wanting the embroidery to heighten the interaction between the shapes! I think this may be just figuring it out as I go.

Embroidered prints- Progress pics!!
Hello! I've been working away at my embroidered prints and wanted to share my progress. Both of these are going to be used as samples for my 4-week online workshop "Meditative Marks: Printing and Stitching with Presence" starting this Saturday. Click here for more info and to register: https://meditativemarks.carrd.co/. We only have a few seats left! New colors: what new colors should I add to these (pictured below)? I have a few ideas but I'm so curious what you think~~ please comment below and make a suggestion. Thank you~!

These are beautiful! Am loving the progress. This past week I worked on adding some embroidering to a pencil drawing I did on silk to emphasize some textures. (Back story, it was a piece that I washed in an attempt to figure out what « fixed » the pencils on silk, and much of my work washed out, so the embroidering was an attempt to bring in more definition and redeem the piece.

@Melissa Gill thank you! It has been a fun way to get a different look out of the silk for sure.
So nice to meet you!

@Bizzy Canary I love your approach to giving back! For the piece pictured above I used several different mediums. On the yarn, I first knit the piece out of a wool/silk blend, then used acid based fabric dyes to create the gradient of color on the lace. For the silk portion in this piece, I used Derwent inktense pencils that I then activated and fixed to the silk with jacquard textile paint. Often, with the silk, I use acid based dyes that are steam fixed as well.
