Hi, colleagues! How was your weekend? 😄 I want to tell this story, that just happened to me last Friday. I have a carrier based in Houston TX, he had a dry van trailer to drop in Dallas today. Happily, i got him a load from Houston TX to Dallas TX, light load, 3.5 $/miles. We received the rate confirmation around 10 am (Texas time), listing 8 am to 3pm as pick up times, delivery today early morning in Dallas TX. So far, so good. BUT... when the driver arrived at the shipper (around 11:30 am), they told him that he had a strict appointment at 8am, and since he had missed his appointment, he had to wait until they loaded all the trucks in their list (50 trucks), and then, they could load his trailer. As you may understand, my driver was furious, so was i. There was no human way that he had a strict appointment at 8am, when we received the RC at 10 am. We called the broker, and she said they were going to pay detention. The driver refused it, and we ended up cancelling the load. The detention they were going to pay didn't compensate the long waiting because of a mistake of theirs. The best part of this story is that i could get him another load that Friday afternoon, miraculously 😂
