Short Recovery Break
Hi all, I’m having an MS relapse, so I’m going to get steroids each morning for the next three days, which should help a lot! I say this because I will very likely be hit-or-miss on Power Hours. When I hop on, I’ll post on here so y’all can join!

Take it easy, we only get one body. And the refund policy is absolute shite, I have checked. See you round xx
"Productivity" can mean different things every day.
I'm having a lame-o MS flare, but I hopped on Power Hour today anyway. Sometimes productivity is about "traditional" work, but for me, a lot of times it's about taking my meds, making my body as comfortable as it can get, and expressing myself. Yes, "put on socks" is on my list of to-dos. Why? Because if nobody's watching me, I will often just sit there with cold feet and be miserable! Same with pain meds. You read that right -- sometimes the effort of getting up and taking a pill seems too daunting, even though I'm hurting badly! Power Hour helps because when someone witnesses me promise to do a thing, I'm so much more likely to get it done. Peer pressure CAN be used for good, and today it was. So thank you @John McKellar for being with me today so I could put socks on and take my meds. I feel better now.

I hear that. Just so you know, I could show up ANY TIME.
How are y’all?
I’m on the couch this Sunday journaling and reflecting, and I’d love to hear from y’all. What are you struggling with today? Any productivity concerns? I’m happy to advise in this thread.
How are y’all?

I need to tackle two documents that I'm up in my head about. They are a little bit loaded in terms of career "worth". Both Wednesday deadlines. One, I need to write some case studies demonstrating how I am a Legitimate Psychologist to a government health council. Two, I need to edit a paper so that I can send it to the Big Conference in Our Research Area, though it is unlikely to get in and the wait time to hear back is long, freezing the paper up for other submissions. However, feedback from that conference is good and it keeps the process moving with that particular paper. When something feels unlikely to pan out because of the absolutely frothing levels of industry competition, it can feel much harder to Do the Thing. I think I need a clinician and a researcher, respectively, to talk some sense into me about my track record.
Dry Needling is my Best Frenemy
My PT's been dry needling my shoulder, and as unpleasant as it is to do it's actually really helped my shoulder! I can't believe it took over 8 years for a doc to recommend it to me -- but that's how it goes, sometimes. How're y'all doing?

Good. Same wavelength. I can't believe it took until today for me to learn that some forms of massage can have some similar effects to certain trauma reprocessing (subcortical) therapies. And like with EMDR etc, a trusting relationship with the practitioner increases the efficacy. I would wager consistency helps too for the same reason. Wild.
Revamping the Pentagon Protocol
I'd love y'all's feedback on the design of this document! This is the introduction to the Pentagon Protocol experiment.

That's v interesting and resonates! When you say design, do you mean visually? Like how the pages read to a non designer?

@Kristin Lindsley It's such a cool layout with variety and broken up nicely. I love seeing the art styles match, that was my first thought on looking at it (first version). On page 2 -- could the phone be horizontally flipped to sort of seem like the message on the loudspeaker is engaging with the ideas in the block of text? I can read the text well enough but I do notice it takes some effort. Who knows if that is just the decline of my reading comprehension or tired eyes though! The high security area subtitle made me chuckle (or perhaps more accurately, sudden nose exhale upon seeing lil joke on the internet.)
