🌱 Courage for the Coming Year
As we step into a new year, courage doesn’t always look like big, bold moves. Sometimes it’s choosing to keep going, trusting God when the path isn’t clear, and showing up even when fear tries to hold us back. This year, let’s pray for: • Courage to trust God’s timing • Courage to grow, even when it’s uncomfortable • Courage to let go of what no longer serves us • Courage to walk in faith, not fear You don’t have to have everything figured out. Just take the next faithful step—God will meet you there. 💛 What’s one area where you’re asking God for courage this year?

Asking for guidance in the path to take and what is next. I have been led further into ministry. I’m currently a youth leader (and on our district student ministry board). God is calling me to become a youth pastor, He is also calling me into Sports Ministry. The last few weeks I have also had a feeling He is calling me to be a Pastor. So I am asking for guidance as to which He wants me to do first, the course to take, etc. I would love to see our district of churches come together more than just for one week a year at campmeeting, I’d like to see us have a sports league again (there was one a long time ago), but I am not sure how to go about that. So guidance in that as well.

One of the gifts for my Aunt is a devotional. Our youth group is going to be doing some acts of service over their Christmas break. Our church also does a Live Nativity every year, for 3 nights
🎶 The Story Behind “O Holy Night”
O Holy Night is one of the most beloved Christmas hymns—filled with awe, hope, and the promise of redemption. But the story behind it is just as powerful as the song itself. ✨ How It All Began In 1847, a French poet named Placide Cappeau was asked to write a Christmas poem for his parish. Though not deeply religious himself, he was moved by the Gospel of Luke and penned the words that would become O Holy Night. He later asked composer Adolphe Adam to create the music—and together they birthed a song that would touch hearts across generations. 🔥 A Song That Broke Barriers When church leaders later discovered Cappeau’s political views and Adam’s Jewish heritage, the song was banned in France. But the people loved it too much—it kept spreading, sung in homes, churches, and gatherings despite the ban. 📡 A Moment in History In 1906, during the very first AM radio broadcast in history, O Holy Night became the first song ever played on radio, sung live by Reginald Fessenden. Across the airwaves, people heard: “Fall on your knees…” A song of worship echoing into a new era. 🌟 Why It Still Moves Us Today The message never grows old: A Savior has come. Hope has arrived. Chains are broken. The weary world truly can rejoice. O Holy Night isn’t just a hymn—it’s a reminder of the miracle of Christ’s birth and the hope His coming brings into our lives.

“O Holy Night” is a beautiful hymn. I have it on a couple things in my home. Thank you for the background of it and the story behind it, I didn’t know that.

Hello, I’m Megan. A few of my favorite verses are Psalm 46:1, Psalm 51, Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 27:14 I grew up in the church, strayed in my early 20’s, and have been back in the church for about 12 years. I have helped in various areas in the church, I helped with our elementary-middle school aged kids, taught Sunday school for 3-5th graders, was the director of our nursery and preschool classes. I am now a youth leader for the middle and high schoolers, and have done this since 2022. I am being led to deepen my faith more and go more into ministry, to become a Youth Pastor and also go into Sports Ministry. (I am not much of an athletic person, but He will give me what I need to do what He wants me to do). I am looking forward to giving encouragement to others, and finding more brothers and sisters in Christ. I hope to continue to gain more wisdom and knowledge, while deepening my faith. And also finding new ways to share Christ with others.
