Simple curd rice — for days you want something easy
Some days, you just want something simple and comforting. This is one of those meals. What you need: • Cooked rice • Curd (yogurt) • Salt Optional: • Mustard seeds • Curry leaves • A little oil Steps: 1. Mash the rice slightly. 2. Add curd and salt. 3. Mix gently. If you have the energy: 4. Add a simple tempering with mustard seeds and curry leaves. This does not have to be perfect. It just has to be enough for today. Do you like your curd rice plain or with tadka?
@Gaurav Suri Suresh I love it with mangoes as well

@Vyshali Shankar right?! It's comfort food for me
When cooking feels hard
Some days, cooking feels heavier than usual. Not because the recipe is hard - but because everything else feels like a lot. What makes cooking feel difficult for you on those days? No right or wrong answers here.

@Vyshali Shankar that sounds like a very sound coping strategy... And something I lean towards as well.. music like cooking is so therapeutic. Thanks for sharing that!
@Gaurav Suri Suresh that makes so much sense... It's just too much effort to figure out what to make with what's left in the pantry.

Nothing today! It was a lazy day and we just had leftovers
Tamil New Year, Vishu, Baisakhi, Bohag Bihu, Pohela Boishakh
Wishing everyone celebrating a very happy Tamil New Year! Days like this can bring a mix of feelings - comfort, nostalgia, joy… or even a little heaviness. If you are cooking today, keep it simple. If you are not, that is okay too. Food is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about showing up in a way that feels possible. If you are celebrating today, what is one dish that feels like home to you?

I made mangai pachadi (raw mango relish), vepampoo pachadi (neem flower relish), bisi bele bath (spiced lentil rice), beetroot poriyal (beetroot stir-fry), paruppu vadai (lentil fritters), and paruppu thengai payasam (coconut lentil dessert) today! It felt good, but I am also really tired. What did you cook today, if anything?

@Vyshali Shankar That in-between feeling can be a bit hard to place. Is today feeling more low or more okay?
