Travel disasters...
Once again, I find myself travelling and I've encountered a PROBLEM. I got stuck in traffic and missed my train. Now I have to go on a bus for 9 hours home 😢😢 So my question is: What would you do in my situation to KILL TIME?

Oh nooo , 9 hours on a bus is a long time! I would probably listen to music, watch some movies or a show, and maybe sleep for a while. Hopefully the time goes by quickly. This summer, I drove from Houston to New York with my two children before school started. The drive was tough for me—it took three days, and I was exhausted from stopping at hotels along the way. But it was also a great sightseeing trip, and my kids keep asking to do it again because they really enjoyed the scenery. I rented a brand-new car for the two-week round trip because I didn’t want to take my own car that far, lol. I have a large family in New York, so we didn’t need a hotel there. Overall, it was a great experience for me, especially because before that, my longest drives in Texas were only about three hours, like Houston to Dallas or Houston to Austin, lol. 😂

The grass is always greener...
This is one expression that I always hear: "The grass is always greener on the other side." It is connected to our feeling of desire for the things we don't have - we always think other people's situations are more desirable than our own. Haha.I can definitely relate! I once pursued what seemed like better opportunities, only to realize they weren't as good as I thought. A valuable lesson learned! I really enjoyed this post.

Back-to-School.
Back-to-school season in Houston has been really busy! Between buying school supplies, backpacks, and clothes, meeting the teachers and other parents, and getting the kids ready for their first day, my schedule has been completely turned upside down. I’d love to hear from other parents who have gone through these busy two weeks. Thank you!

@Emily Storey Thank you. For me, the most time-consuming part has been shopping for all the school supplies and clothes, and then getting the kids back into a new routine. It has definitely been a busy couple of weeks.

It looks like a beautiful place! 😊 Yes, we have protected natural areas in Texas, such as Big Thicket National Preserve. It’s a great place to enjoy nature and go hiking.
