Momentum Mondays: What's your ONE thing this week?
Happy Monday, founders. New week, blank slate, and one question that matters more than anything else on your calendar: What is the ONE thing you're going to do this week that actually moves your business forward? Not your task list. Not the 14 things you could do. The ONE thing that if you did it, this week would count. Here's the rule I give my coaching clients: It has to be ONE thing. If you put three, you picked zero. It has to be specific enough that on Friday you can say "yes, I did that" or "no, I didn't." It should move your business toward revenue, not away from it. Drop yours in the comments. I'll read every one and reply. And if you're stuck picking, comment anyway and tell me what you're stuck on. That's where the real work starts. Let's go. 🔥

Identity Crisis
Lately, I’ve been feeling something I don’t think we talk about enough as founders… An identity crisis. Not in a dramatic, everything-is-falling-apart kind of way… More like, “Wait… what am I actually building right now?” And if I’m being real with you—The Founder's Guild is going through that with me. Who am I as a solo leader? What is this community without my co-founder? I think there’s this expectation that once you “pick a path,” you’re supposed to just lock in and go. But that’s not actually how it works. Growth changes you. And when you change… your business has to change, too. Steve Jobs got kicked out of Apple. The company HE started. And during that time, he went through a massive identity shift. He started NeXT. He invested in Pixar. He refined his taste, his philosophy, his leadership. And when he came back to Apple— He didn’t just “execute better.” He built a completely different company than before. Elon Musk went from PayPal → rockets → electric cars → AI. Even Oprah Winfrey shifted from news anchor → talk show host → network owner → spiritual teacher. So maybe the identity crisis isn’t a bug… Maybe it’s a signal. A signal that: - You’re outgrowing your current container - Your vision is expanding faster than your structure - You’re being asked to get more honest about what you actually want For me right now, that looks like: Letting go of what I think this should be Getting real about what actually feels aligned And being willing to rebuild parts of this from a deeper place Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s unclear. Even if I don't come across as the "perfect community leader who has it all together all the time." And I have a feeling I’m not the only one. If you’re building something—especially with ADHD—you probably feel this too sometimes. That tension between wanting clarity and constantly evolving. So instead of pretending I have it all figured out… I’m choosing to share this with you. Because this community isn’t about perfection. It NEVER was.

@Bill Widmer Well when you get on the field you have to be like “fun, super energetic coach” and that’s pretty draining, especially if that’s not how I feel. Remember when I did a job like that that I loved too was draining and I loved it. Now I don’t like it and am not getting paid much for it. So for amount of energy put in, probably not worth the investment.

Something Special Happens When You Just Show Up
If there's one thing I've learned in my over 12 years as an entrepreneur, it's that the most important part of your business is showing up. - Even when you don't feel like it - Even when things are hard - Even when everything feels like it's going wrong I've built five companies now, and every single time, there's always ebbs and flows. There are moments when things feel really great and aligned, and there are moments when everything feels hard, and it feels like I'm trudging through a swamp. No matter how hard I push, I don't get anywhere. But I kept showing up. And that's what got me across the finish line. That's not to say that you should build your business from a place of force, where you have to repeatedly do things you hate over and over again to achieve an outcome. I work hard, but I don't believe in "hustle culture" work 18 hours a day 7 days a week. That may work for some people, but it's not sustainable and it's honestly not even necessary. Work hard, yes, but also work smart and work with the way that your brain works. If you keep noticing that something isn't working, that's a sign that you're probably out of alignment, and it's time to change something. That doesn't necessarily mean it's time to change to a different business or give up on your dreams as an entrepreneur. It might just mean changing the methods and systems you're using to try and achieve the outcome. This is a lesson that Rex and I learned recently. We found that if we push and do a ton of outreach and do these big launches, we can achieve success. Followed by burnout. Lesson learned. Now we're working with a coach to help us build systems and new ways of doing business that enhance what we're already doing and make ourselves more effective. But I digress. The point of this whole post is this: 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴. As long as you don't give up, you will achieve your goals. Or you will find yourself hitting a different milestone you hadn't even thought of, that's better than what you hoped.

Really seems like that’s what life is , it’s a game of reps. And just like a muscle, you can overtrain and hurt yourself and progress. Showing up seems to always look different and there will be different seasons of life. We grow and adapt or we die. Either way, there’s only one option - to keep going. I don’t think that as long as you keep trying, you will 100% achieve your goals. But I do think that the only way to achieve your goals is to keep going and trying because the person who does achieve their goals tries again and again and again.
🛝 Introducing Recess: For Every Skool Owner Building Right Now 🎁
Just joined this incredible community by @David Iya, and had to share it. Recess is where Skool owners come to connect. To network, share wins, vent, learn, and actually get to know each other and build real friendships. 🎡 Here's what will happen in RECESS. 🎡 1. Every week, he'll pin & spotlight two different communities. 2. You'll share what's blocking you. You'll celebrate what's working. 3. He'll continue to drop knowledge, insights, and lessons from building to Top #10. 4. You'll vent. You'll connect. You'll support each other. And you'll build deeper, more intimate relationships through skool-specific relationship based games, calls and other fun surprises. This is all about YOU. Your Skools, Your journeys. Your stories. Your growth. A place to vent, to celebrate the wins, and to find support when needed. A place where I'll continue to share the things I'm learning from my journey. A place where hot seats will continue, and we can continue knowledge sharing. No courses. No tactics. Just people who get it. And a place for support while you build. If you're a Skool owner, don't wait to join; it won't be free forever to maintain the quality. Click here to join Recess. Here's what he said: "I've been blessed beyond what I deserve. But not everyone can afford paid communities. Some of the best people I know are grinding alone and in my free plan. I built Recess to give back." Join recess, and see you there. 💙

Amazing share! Thank you, this is a great group
What's been the highlight of your weekend?
Given the snowpocalypse we're all experiencing right now, I'd love to hear what you've LOVED about this weekend! I went for a walk this morning with my pup Kota, and he freaked out! It's only the second time he's ever seen snow (living in Arizona, California and Texas it's not very common!). Over to you! Share some highlights in the comments.
