Procrastination Was the Door
I just worked with a client around her procrastinating. Not by trying to fix it, but by actually being with what was there. A complete pivot from what she trys to do everyday. First, we explored everything involved in her procrastinating. What she does, how it shows up, the patterns around it. Frustration, stickiness, etc Then we slowed down into her direct experience. At first, it was heavy. Half her body felt empty, sad… almost shut down. The other half more alive… green… moving… even joyful. We stayed with both of those. And as she kept noticing, something started to shift. With some simple breathing, her system settled into a kind of stable, purple peace. From there, everything opened. Her imaginal space filled with beauty. There was more room, more ease. And from that place, the tasks she had been avoiding didn’t feel the same anymore. No pressure or attachment. Just a sense that she could move through them naturally almost effortlessly. She will practice a memory reconsolidation practice for the next 5 hours to lock this shift in and touch back with it each day for a while until it becomes natural to experience. ______________________________________________________________________________ Want the same experience? Start with what actually shows up in your body the moment you start to avoid something?

I hopped off the procrastination train (for the most part 😅 ) a few years ago and it changed my life drastically. I'm very much a proponent of getting the work I need done immediately.

@Brad Weyant Absolutely, not sure how I operated before haha
Responsibility
What does it mean to take full responsibility for your circumstances? When you say you’re taking responsibility, what does that actually look like for you? Curious how you see it.

I think being accountable is a large part of taking responsibility. I don't know why this post made me think of it, but there is a line from the show "Californication" that has stuck with me, and it is, "There is no true 'right or wrong,' only the consequences of our actions." Probably because I think taking responsibility and dealing with those consequences is an important part of life.
Game of shuffle
How fluid and nimble can you be? Yes, we need structure to get things but sometimes, shifts in priorities and time allocation fluctuate. And in order to still follow through and get to our destination (goals) as efficiently as possible, daily tasks have to be (re)shuffled. When this happens, sometimes I have to make an executive decision on the day to make the needed adjustments. It may feel uncomfortable to adjust that day, but this change also adds a level of excitement because there's variety in my week - at least for me. How do you react when these types of shifts happen and how easy it for you to adjust on the fly?

In my job and a lot of aspects of life, I'm constantly shifting and going with the flow, and solving problems on the fly. I actually kind of enjoy it.
Curisosity
Self-awareness and the ability to learn and adapt are what actually sustain strong humans over time. People stay committed to knowing themselves, and they lead from curiosity. When something triggers them, they pause, accept what’s happening, and shift how they’re relating to it instead of reacting automatically. How do you lead or not lead from a place of curiosity?

@Tony Sibbald I agree with you Tony! I lead from a place of yearning for knowledge and wanting to learn. I'm naturally curious!
I Used To Watch A lot of Sports
I used to spend most evenings relaxing by watching sports But now I work on Skool Or listen to audiobooks Or practice my Spanish And darn it feels good I feel like I am next leveling my life!
