When am I planning to actually start a Dadvocates group? I'm not technically planning on starting one as I already have a few similar groups for fly fishers that I run through my Faith on the Fly Program. I was planning on helping with the curriculum aspects of this group. That said...I have shared the idea with another pastor who fly fishes to see about potentially doing a group through ZOOM if the interest was there. I'm getting back to him in two weeks and passed along the video link for series 1 of Mending Lines to discuss more... How will I recruit dads? We would put out a request across the state of Michigan for those interested in the United Methodist Connection if we decide to do it. What structure will I be using in terms of meeting frequency? Don't know yet but I would guess twice a month for 3-4 months In person or Zoom? ZOOM Kids with, or just dads? Dads only How many meetings? 2x a month most likely Any other aspects of your plan? Not yet still just feeling out what opportunities might be out there... How can Family Lines best support you? Develop good curriculum that adds value to dads who are just starting the journey of wanting to be better...

1. My name is Matt Witkowski. I'm from Sparta (Grand Rapids) MI. 2. My dad was always around and supported me in my interests. He was a very serious and reserved guy and I was more a social butterfly like my mother. He showed up for games, took me out on the water, in the woods and even though we are different people there is a mutual appreciation of what each person brings to our relationship. 3. I love the idea of connecting with other fathers in different parts of the country and sharing stories, questions and celebrating life with other men who take the role of being a father seriously and finding ways to be better dads everyday. I hope to help bring thoughts, ideas and questions to the group to help this program grow and reach more dads. Can't wait to get started!
