@Cassandra Brentley Did I not introduce myself? Sorry, I joined so many Skool communities at once, I lost track of what I've done, where, and when. (#ADHD, anyone?) I work for a tiny nonprofit that teaches empowerment self-defense to communities at high risk for abuse (e.g., SA & DV survivors, adults with ID or DD, and so on). Our work is trauma-informed and holistic--everything from full-contact TKOs in a ground-fighting situation all the way back down the spectrum to assertive verbal communication & de-escalation. The core of our work is from the inside, teaching people how to reconnect with their inner power so that they can embody self-confidence rather than just act it. That said, few people want self-defense until there's a serial r*pist in the local news. And the people who really need our help usually can't afford training. So we're struggling. I've taken to AI like grabbing a lifeguard's rescue ring. I'm holding onto it in hopes it'll help keep us afloat long enough for us to start moving in a positive direction rather than continue floundering. It's certainly helping my ADHD: AI can keep up with the speed of my mind, help me organize my thoughts, and is a fantastic sounding board partner 24/7. It's not perfect--any more than a rescue ring is a sailboat, but it's a huge help nonetheless. Looking forward to getting and swapping ideas about how to leverage this tech for doing good in the world.

@Cassandra Brentley I like Perplexity as a Google search replacement, especially if I want an answer with anything more than superficial substance. Very much prefer ChatGPT's Deep Research function for the deeper dives, though. That could be because I have more practice with ChatGPT, though. Each platform has its own nuances, right? They're definitely interested in learning. The challenge is to figure out how to meet them where they are and lead them from there. I just started using Loom. That tool has a lot of promise. I've got plans to combine it with GenSpark's new Clip Genius feature for even better results.

@Cassandra Brentley I'm still playing with Loom videos. There are so many (so, so many) videos I need to record, but it will take a little time to get really comfortable with it. Meanwhile, GenSpark recently announced a "Clip Genius" feature that's supposed to detect and extract highlights for you. There's room for prompting so it knows what you're looking for. I've only tried it once, and found that the commercial makes it look cooler than it actually is. (Isn't that the way it often goes?) Still, seems like it would be cool if we could record a stream-of-consciousness explainer in Loom, then feed that raw video to a robot, and have that AI trim it down to most salient parts for us. It wouldn't be perfect, but even 60% of good would be a huge timesaver. That's the idea. LMK if you try it. Always happy to nerd out on new toys--especially if they can multiply my output without adding additional stress.

Chasing the overlap between self-empowerment and intuition. Teaching people how to trust and protect themselves since 1998. Not a guru; just a guide.
