Building A Spotify Payout Strategy For Indie Artists In 2023
Greetings @Sean Taylor @Brandman Network I trust that all is well with you guys & the movement! Much appreciation for your great contributions to the indie community. Nuff respect!! With that said I must express my disappointment with your most recent YouTube audio post. Building A Spotify Payout Strategy For Indie Artists In 2023. I think it’s your most recent because I just finished listening to it & it says that it was uploaded only hours ago. Here’s why I’m disappointed. I feel like the dialogue between you & Kohrey was super one sided, in the favor of indie artists pretty much needing the streaming platforms, pretty much Spotify. I’m not saying that the intention of the dialogue was to be one sided I’m simply expressing my opinion in regards how it sounded to me. It sounded as if you guys were trying to convince indie artists to abandon the idea of building their own communities & convincing fans to abandon supporting indie artists who have their own communities as well, based on the idea of convenience. At this present moment a lot of indie artists are doing well from their bandzoogle websites & their band camps etc. And these artists worked really hard to accomplish this! You guys have very loud voices & A LOT of people trust your word & will follow your lead. Some will follow blindly. That’s how great of an influence you have become. The bottom line is platforms are robbing artists left & right & artists are tired of it. If you agree with streaming & think the idea of using streaming platforms work then that’s fine. But please be mindful of how you deliver your messages to where it doesn’t sound anti something else. Your dialogue on this topic may have caused an artist to lose a subscription or may have changed the mind of a potential fan of becoming a fan of an artist who has their own community, because of the convenience of listening to music on Spotify. ALL BUSINESSES need those hardcore die hard supporters to keep the lights on. And this strategy is needed to be taught within music.

An Idea For The BRANDMAN Brand!
@Sean Taylor Greetings fam! I thought of an idea & I felt to share. Seeing that the BRANDMAN is such a huge & authentic platform, helping artists all over the world, I thought of you guys showcasing artists. To be more specific, the same concept as colors or tiny desk top performances. Implement an additional system where a certain amount of artists submit their songs every month, to be reviewed to make sure the songs are up to par sound quality wise & business wise to be used for commercial use. Once the boxes all check out, the artists would set up their mics & what have you & perform their records right from the comfort of their homes, studio or wherever. The video footage would then be submitted to you guys to be uploaded on your YouTube channel & any other additional platforms. You can call it something like THE BRANDMAN ARTIST SHOWCASE! This would give artists a huge boost due to the fact that you guys have such a huge following. Debuting artists pretty much. One can start off with 4-8 artists per month. One Artist per week or 2 artists per week. First come first serve system. Artists would submit their tracks a month early to perform the following month, giving you guys time to review the tracks. I would say 2 tracks per artist. I’m sure much more would have to go into something like this but I’m just giving a rough draft perspective. Before or after each performance, artists can mention their platforms to be followed, website, merch, of course shoutout Brand Man & da whole 9! Do this for a while, create a buzz with this new additional system & maybe it can grow to a level where a few livestream shows can be done. Selling livestream tickets & everything. I just felt I should share that. But either way, big up yuhself @Sean Taylor big up da BRANDMAN movement dem!! Big up all artists near & far!! Everybody large up!!

How To Turn Your Merch Into A $1M Brand (Check this interview!)
We did an interview with Justin Phillips about how he sold over $10M in mech. Every artist should have merch and this is a clinic on how you can do the same for yourself https://youtu.be/DpohoLP_CfI

Awesome!!!
Another Step In Building Community Building
In case you missed it… As many of you know, we’ve been helping artists for over 5 years now - building up indie and major artists while offering the lessons we’ve learned along the way (instead of keeping everything hidden like the labels) This was all made possible by the support from YOU all and throughout this journey, many of y'all have told us, ā€œHey, you guys should drop merch!ā€ And the answer has always been ā€œWe’ll get to it one dayā€. Well that day has finally come AND there’s something special about it that we’re only going to be able to do one time… This is our limited Day 1 Supporter series to celebrate our first-ever drop But what does that mean? It means the items in this batch will be marked with a special patch (shown on the merch page) that no future merch will have so you can show us without a doubt that you’re a Day 1 Supporter. But it’s more than that… Over time, we will continue to find creative ways to acknowledge our Day 1’s in different ways, (free access, items, sharing your music or other ways to provide value) So if you consider yourself a Day 1…See what our first-ever merch looks like HERE and pre-order if you like it and want to support us. FYI: The pre-order for this limited series ends on June 19th. .
