🧊 Ice Maker Flood
Brand new RV. Ice maker line came loose. Water pump was still on. Kitchen flooded. Now we always turn the pump off when we leave. Anyone else ever come back to an unexpected leak?

Nothing like discovering a puddle in a brand-new RV to ruin the honeymoon phase. Now turning off the water pump when we leave is just automatic.
↯ Zig Zag Driving
Our first trip towing we didn’t have tow mirrors. So we zig-zagged down the highway trying to see behind us. Tow mirrors were purchased very quickly after that. What was the first thing you realized you forgot on your first RV trip?

We bought tow mirrors very quickly after that trip. Looking back, I’m sure the people behind us were wondering what on earth we were doing.
💩 Poop Hose Disaster
The lawn crew weed wacked our sewer hose with the weed wacker. We didn’t know. Later Tim went to dump the tanks… And the hose was shredded. Guess who was wearing brand-new sneakers. Always check your hose before opening the valve.

Tim still talks about those sneakers. That was also the day we learned to check the hose before opening any valves if the lawn crew has been around.
🧺 Mystery Gray Tank Flood
When we bought our Seneca, nobody told us there was a second gray tank. So we did 17 loads of laundry. Then the basement flooded. Lesson: learn every tank in your RV. Anyone else ever discover a “surprise system”?

That was the moment we realized every RV has its own “personality.” Now the first thing we do with a new rig is figure out where every tank and valve actually goes.
🌈 Rainbow Jimmies
One of our cupboard doors opened while driving. Inside the cabinet? A container of rainbow jimmies. They went everywhere. We were still finding sprinkles two years later. What’s the weirdest thing that’s exploded out of a cabinet while driving?

I swear those sprinkles multiply. Every time I think we’ve found them all, another one shows up somewhere random in the RV.
