Discussion Post Two - Servant Leadership
Where has "what's in it for me?" shaped your walk? What would repentance look like?

I live in the tension of discerning/doing “Good” Things vs. “God” Things. I sometimes like to pride myself in doing a lot of seemingly “good” things, but admit at times, though part of my intentions will reap “good” they are tainted with selfishness— doing things to be known as a good daughter, a good student, a good partner, a good worker, a good Christian, etc… feeding my own ego and satisfaction. Though these things may not be bad in itself, I sometimes get lost in my own self-righteousness. I’d delight in the benefits, praise, and promises of doing good… more than I lavish in God. For me repentance looks like, letting go of my agenda and replacing it with God’s agenda and a pure heart for God.

Hi everyone! My name is Mary :) Originally from San Diego, but have been in Vegas for a decade~ I remember seeing Pastor Benny as the Verse of the Day on the bible app 2023. Usually I just let the video play and pay little attention, but I was intrigued when i read ChurchLV at the bottom of the video and was delighted to find that it was in Vegas! I visited that same weekend on a whim-- grew up in church my whole life, but this church felt more and more like home. Fast forward, kept coming back, haven't been the same since.... now doing SOM in person part time ☺️ My favorite hobby is taking myself on solo dates to cafes, traveling, exploring, and trying new experiences Truly in this program I would love just to dwell. In God, his word and family like I never have before, around other spirit filled people. I hope to gain not just the form, but the power ❤️🔥
