Picks
I used to know a guy who would obsess about ‘breaking in’ a pick and it would sometimes take months. Luckily, for me, I like them straight out of the box. Jim Dunlop. Gator Grip. 2.0. I use the blunt corners (not the sharp end). I think this comes from my younger days when I couldn’t afford picks so I used to use 1p pieces. I got a big sound, but they were always metal shavings on my guitar and I used to break a lot of strings!😂

I use a jazz 3 now but I've got on of those Guzz S3 3mm picks somewhere, they have 3 different edges for tone variation. Sadly they don't make them anymore. 60 dollars on ebay - blimey !!
Horizontal lines lesson
In the i vi ii v progression , you talk of diminished arp ( B, D , Ab or F) being played over the 6th (dom) chord - but what if it's a Emin7 rather than E7 -- can you still play a diminished arp for tension but coming from E, G, A#, C# ?

@Nigel Price thanks - just wondered what your thought process would be , i suppose almost anything goes as long as you hit a chord tone to resolve to the ii chord

Here’s the missing example solo from the ‘jazz wheel’ tunes. To avoid all doubt, the ‘jazz wheel’ Is the little device I invented to ensure the whole of the guitar neck is being covered by your practice. That’s all in the ‘Classroom’ if you sign up to ‘premium’. Thanks.

Highly recommend signing up to the classroom stuff, great examples and some ideas that you probably not thought of before eg chord plurality
Voice leading with octaves. Very Wezzy!
More about voice leading. This time with the groovy bossa nova and with the ideas transferred to octaves. Let me know what you think. I do like talking about this sort of stuff…

Classroom Videos
Anyone unsure of whether the subscription is worth it -?? - The answer is YES .......just the lessons on the fretboard alone are excellent . I binge watched them yesterday and now the hard yards begin..
