Being a father is HARD. I’ll say it out loud. Over the past 3 years, my wife has softened me in the best way possible. She’s taught me to lead with empathy toward my sons and daughters. I’ve learned that just because I don’t think something is a big deal doesn’t mean it isn’t one to them. Their perception is their reality. Learning to listen more than I talk has been one of the hardest shifts for me. My instinct has always been to fix, solve, or push through. But fatherhood has taught me that presence beats pressure, and understanding beats control.
