@Tyler Rediger I agree with this sentiment. It’s a combination of burnout with poor pay because I have no motivation anymore. Nothing extra I do gets noticed enough to give me a good raise. My work life balance is too good in my position for me to leave so instead I’m just left with the burnout of not caring anymore
Hello!!
Hi All! My name is Abbey and I've been certified 15 years. I'm currently the (only) athletic trainer at a division 5 high school in Ohio. I've been at my current school 7 (in my 8th) years. I've had a lot of ups and downs professionally but am happy where I'm at- even though it wasn't my dream position! I want to keep updated on currently clinical practices and learn new techniques for treatment and rehabs- especially for the high school setting! I'm excited to be here!

High ham/glute bruise
I have a football player that’s been having pain in one specific point around his high hamstring/gluteal crease area. He was seen by my doc on Friday last week during the game and we both agreed it’s nothing serious and he could play but it was the athlete decision if he wanted to play. This week he is mentally unable to sprint, he has done hills no problem, he’s done glute bridges with banded resistance and did banded hip extension. I’m trying a “placebo” taping. But I don’t know anything more I can do and I’ve told coach he can’t do anything more to it and it’s all mental I feel.

I would consider getting an MRI. I had a patient that sounded very similar and turns out he had an avulsion fracture on his ischium from the obturator externus. It was super freaky! But realized we had to just stop trying to force his functional exercises and let it heal.

@Jenna Doggett he was playing corner and was doing a back pedal into a sprint. It was on that cut when he opened up and felt a pop, so hip was externally rotating
