Whats your goal for 2026?
What targets have you set yourself for 2026? For me it's: 1. Complete my UEFA C Licence 2. Help my young GK find their voice 3. Separate Parent & Coach better

Crikey - many that won't happen, I fear. I had hoped to get my GK UEFA B...but, the IFA STILL have no GK Coach Educator....so looks like that's not gonna happen! Build again my J4K School...but, complete and utter venue malfunctions looks like will scupper that plan too. (No pitch space available here!) Get some 1-to-1 training sessions for myself (as I have a couple of tournaments to attend this year)...but, really struggling to find GK coaches available/willing to take me! :(
The rebuild begins here!!!
So after 8 months out tonight I took back into a proper match. As much as I hate to say it I failed. There is no sugar coating. As a coach I don’t even have to watch the video back I know what went wrong. But now I need to figure out why in training it was working but in a match it didn’t So the issue was Dives were falls not dives. The set position was right, I pushed off and went no where. It was a fall not a dive. So back to knee dive drills before Sunday. What this is going to do is test my mental fortitude can I rebuild my mindset. Can I over come tonight on 3G and get back to my standards on Grass or is the body telling me that is enough fella your about to be 46 and just coach the younger ones now and pass the knowledge now. The next week will be a pivotal week in me competing or moving on. What I know is the knowledge is there, but is the ability to translate that still there? What I know is what ever the out come will see a bigger and better version of this Goalkeeper in what ever capacity

Bummer, @Phil Coulby...but, give yourself a break after so long out! I have found, roughly, the same things. I now only play matches every 6/7 weeks (coz the recovery time is much more now). When I have found I can't react as well as I once could....I now deliberately get "on my toes" during a match. I step quickly while on my toes, and, although I discourage it as a GK coach, I bounce alternately, on each foot while in set-position! I make sure my weight is forward, and very deliberately "bounce" on my toes! (As I said, I don't encourage it as a coach with my young GKs, because I think your feet should not leave the turf (as you might need that split-second push with one leg))...but, I am 53 this year (and off to La Manga again with the NI squad for the Four-Nations Tournament) and definitely need to have a focus during a match to stay alert!

Zak saves yet another penalty
We were drawing 1-1 just before half time and we conceded a penalty, which Zak managed to save, resulting in a comeback and a 4-1 win, that's 6 saves out of 7 penalties now for the season if you want to see more check Zak White's Facebook profile and we have just been sponsored by J4K which we are excited about.
