Alright, I’m kicking off this new Personal/Off Topic category with a unique story about myself. Some of you know I’m a huge fitness junkie. I like to rock climb in weighted vests, run Spartan races (think Tough Mudder meets American Ninja Warrior), and I’ve even been helping some paid students hit their fitness goals just because that’s who I am. One of my favorite party tricks is what I call the triple clap push-up: explode off the ground, one clap in front, one clap behind the back, one clap in front again, then stick the landing back into push-up position. Some friends recently told me I should submit it to the Guinness Book of World Records and go for "most claps in a single push-up." My personal record is 7 claps so I was hyped to submit it and get my name on a GWR plaque. Today I got the response and it’s actually kind of hilarious. Guinness denied my submission for being “too unique and lacking competition.” I spent $1,000 chasing that world record... instead I got a unique story. Worth it.
