Hello Everyone - I’m Mariana, co-founder of Say No More Portugal. At Say No More, we coordinate the practical side of moving to Portugal - Legal, housing, schools, banking, healthcare, pet care and whatever comes next - through a single point of contact. But paperwork isn’t belonging. Our best KPI? Whether, a few months in, someone has a social circle that makes their new geography feel like their own. People to call. A table to join. A place where you belong. Because there is no real well-being without belonging - and no integration without community. For more than 12 years, I worked in international investment and business development, while life took me from Lisbon to Guadalajara, London and Beijing. My co-founder, Anabela, coordinated Portugal’s last national Census. Between us, we’ve spent much of our careers understanding people, places and the systems connecting them. Now we’re using that experience to rethink relocation. Say No More also grew from a difficult professional chapter that Anabela and I both experienced as women. At some point, we decided to stop pouring our energy into a culture we couldn’t change and use it to build one of our own. That experience isn’t our brand. But it was our catalyst. I had spent years helping develop businesses and investment projects, but Say No More was the first business I had to create as my own. The expertise was there. The roadmap wasn’t. That’s one of the reasons I joined this community: to learn from women who have already stood in front of that blank page, made the difficult decisions and built something that is truly theirs. I’m especially curious to hear what you wish someone had told you when you were starting - and to connect with those who have turned a difficult professional chapter into something of their own.
