Bugs
I am getting bite by biting flies and I hate it. I do not use chemical stuff like deet or anything like that. I can't wait till my marigold and germanums start to bloom. My question is what can I do to stop getting eaten up my biting flies. My husband said put apple cider vinegar on my garden apron and hat or around the garden. What do you all say and tips?

I'm in Carmichael, CA. I use Avon skin so soft.. it repels the mosquitos that go around my lower leg to bite me. I put it on my arms as well. It lubricates our skin as it protects.

My Concrete Heaven
Since it's just me, I generally only grow Persian Cucumbers, Sugar Cube Cantaloupes , Sungold tomatoes & Rhonda de Nice French Round Zucchini.. Up against the house are my specialty Geraniums. Our Sacramento Geranium Club closed in 2019. I still propagate plants. I now belong to the Roseville Better Gardens Club. I propagate for their yearly sale & share with friends.

I grow all my Veggies in very large pots along with trellises the hold up the cucumber & sugar cube cantaloupe vines. I also grow specialty Geraniums.
