Well water vs R.O.
We have to buy our R.O. so, after noticing that our well water had an EC of 0.3 we decided to give it a try. Well, let's just say that starting with an EC of Zero is much easier in the long run, as we've been chasing the EC & pH from the get-go. So our question to the community is if you use an R.O. system, what kind do you use?

@Kathy Root what are the pH & EC of that water ?
Whew! The holidays are over πŸ˜ƒ
We certainly have been challenged in keeping up with life during the busy season, much less this community. We're back on track now and have made a healthy decision about snacking --- LETTUCE straight off of our 2 tower gardens. Now, each time we walk by we snag a piece of lettuce and tell the plant, "Thank You!" A practice we highly recommend.

Mustard greens
We had such great success with lettuce, kale, swiss chard, and basil we decided to branch out. A friend of ours LOVES mustard greens, so we bought 4 seedlings of 3 different varieties. These have kept us on our toes, as their needs are higher than the other grows. Ups & downs of both pH & EC and more top-offs. We've been giving away sprigs of all the greens as they've grown, but now we're going to harvest the "Ruby Streaks". Here's a picture of the greens and their roots (which are a pink tinge, just like the plant). When you bite into a fresh sprig of it, the taste is similar to wasabi.

Having lived on Kauai we totally get your internet 'island-time' story. You'll be able to relate to bumperstickers they have @Chad Miner ... "Slow down, this ain't the mainland" and "The closer you get, the slower I go" Congrats on your new home.
?? Organic nutrients
We've had some people ask if the nutrients we 'feed' our plants is organic. From what we've read on the General Hydroponics website, it seems the answer is no, but it's not clear to us. Do you have a video/article that addresses this @Chad Miner
