🔥 Burn it Down and Start Fresh 🤌
I did something crazy today... Something that as a Pretentious [Perfectionist] Engineer I hate...-> I completely burned down my "About Page" for The Big Brain Club [Pro]. I'll be honest, its hard to clear the slate and start fresh... but I've continued to realize I don't clearly communicate what's going on in [Pro]. Its sat on backlog forever and no wonder this community isn't a Vibe yet. So after waking up at 4:22 am, rocking some stretches/foam rolling in silence... I finally hit the "enough is enough" point. 🔥Burn it Down and Start Fresh. To quote one of our lovely Big Brain Owners @Sarah Hankins "Messy Action" So I have 52 minutes until I wake up the kiddos to get them off to skool... so let's see what kind of messy offer I can make. Feel free to comment below with any design, wording, and VSL ideas you have and we can build something together IRL I've been building on skool for over a year now, and I really believe in the value [Pro] brings... enabling folks to build the life they desire... living where they want... loving what they do... and being paid well for it.... I'm excited to upskill and learn how to clearly communicate this value to the world. =D So let me know what you think.

Hey Josef, This is maybe going to sting a little. It's not my intention. I don't want to offer bandaid suggestions that won't help. I get that you don't want to sound sales-y. For the right people it won't. They'll feel seen. So here it comes... This is what's happening on your page right now: Unclear Value Proposition: The core offer isn't immediately clear. What exactly does this club help you achieve? The three bullet points (Living Where You Want, Loving What You Do, Being Paid Well For It) are vague outcomes that don't connect to specific, measurable results people can visualize. Abstract Benefits: The outcomes are too general and long-term. People don't wake up thinking "I need to join a big brain club." They think about immediate, concrete problems like paying rent, finding better work, or escaping jobs they hate. The current messaging doesn't connect to daily frustrations. Doesn't Feel Achievable: The page doesn't explain how these outcomes will actually happen. What's the method? The deliverables (weekly office hours, keynote speakers, repository access) are just formats - they don't tell you the path from where you are to where you want to be. Pricing Structure: Two different pricing tiers ($100/month vs $1800/year) with overlapping benefits creates unnecessary complexity. People shouldn't have to think hard about which option to choose - it should be obvious. Missing Emotional Connection There's no acknowledgment of what people are struggling with right now. The page jumps straight to solutions without first identifying the specific pain points that make people actively seek help. Weak Opening Hook The opening assumes people already understand why they'd want to be in a "Big Brain Club." It doesn't grab attention or create urgency around a problem that needs solving. Better Approach: Lead with a specific symptomatic issue people experience regularly, then position the club as the familiar, achievable solution. For example: "Stop counting down the hours before you have to go back to work that drains your energy and still doesn't take care of those bills piling up"

@Joseph Isosaki My pleasure - while I was doing this I came up with a few ideas for 2.0. I'll shoot them to you via DM

Origin: Displaced New Zealander living in North Berwick Scotland. I like to go after big hairy audacious goals and believe that anything is possible hence a crazy challenge I have planned in September of Everesting my local mountain. Digital marketing agency owner specialising in Google ads and paid advertising and been on skool since Sam started it but only been creating communities for a 1 and a half now. Would like to move away from done for your digital services, as whenever I get to a certain milestone/client level I start to dislike the work and it gets bit much. I have always been the operator but know I need to step up and create my own thing or at least charge more. Desired Future State: Work on the products I want to with clients or my own, do the work that I am excited to do and maybe specialise in one thing to make life easier. I want to help more people achieve big goals like building their business, inspire younger people to follow their dreams and continue to grow as a person. My revenue goal is £50k per month so that there is no financial burden to fly back to New Zealand whenever we want. I would like to tick off more of my top experiences, inspire my family and teach my children how to achieve greatness for themselves, for their own goals. Why: Why not, you only get one life. It is too short to waste. Fears: Pursing my dreams at the expense of family income. I want to make sure we have enough. I guess this is why I have not just got rid of the agency work completely. Not fully knowing what to move into next as I have hundreds of ideas but not always sure of the direction to take but believe I can figure it out along the way.

@Nick McCashin I'm from dirty Auckland : ) How about you? I do performance-based projects. I fund campaigns to bring in new customers and cashflow for small businesses with high-ticket offerings. It's fun and keeps me on my toes, and also let's me create assets that work in other people's business flows instead of selling my time. So mostly that and a little bit of spearfishing. Do you hunt in Scotland?

@Nick McCashin Would be happy to chat about what you're doing and share stories. Want to shoot me a dm? Scotland sounds pretty frosty for getting in the water. Wouldn't be surprised to see the fish wearing wetsuits too : )
