Acknowledged
Sometimes the thing that returns isn’t asking to be understood — only acknowledged.

I tried
I tried to follow the morning prompt myself and ended up here: There’s a feeling that keeps returning lately, not heavy, not light, just familiar in a way I can’t quite name. It sits beside me like an old coat I thought I’d given away. I don’t put it on. I just notice the weight of it, folded, waiting. Sometimes the things that return don’t ask for anything. They just want to be acknowledged. If this sparks something in the room, good. If it doesn’t, that’s fine too — fragments don’t owe us clarity.

Shift
There was a moment just after waking when the room felt slightly out of place, not wrong, just shifted, like something had been moved half an inch in the night. Sometimes that’s all it takes to begin writing: noticing the thing that isn’t quite how you left it. Prompt: Write about something that returned in a slightly different shape.

Remembered
Passed a window this morning where the curtain was moving even though the room was empty. It made me think about how some spaces remember us longer than we intend to stay.

One Floor Short
The elevator stopped one floor short. No one pressed anything. It just… paused. The doors stayed closed. The light above the panel didn’t change. No voice. No explanation. Four of us inside, standing in practiced stillness— eyes forward, hands occupied, as if movement might make it worse.
