Because you are making a forcefully executed strike upon a spherical mass of polyestern resin, and there is only curvature to the Cueball , it's extremely important to chalk your tip Everytime !!!! Most tips are made of some sort of leather or hide and hold the chalk for just one stike of the Cueball. The chalk helps create grab and friction on the strike. After each strike the chalk begins to dissipate from the tip. So in order to get a consistent firm grip contact strike on the cueball. Make sure you chalk after each shot! Great question !
