Disgusted by Brett Rutecky - My Recent Experience
As most of you know—I’ve been in the online marketing space for a while now. I've built my following, and worked hard to be respected in this industry. I'm not writing this to flex. I'm writing this so you understand where I’m coming from. What happened with Brett Rutecky and his email platform iMail left me not just disappointed—but genuinely disgusted. When You Try to Build Bridges and Get Burned Instead If you’re in affiliate marketing, you know how important it is to build relationships. We all reach out, connect with product creators, and ask about potential JV or affiliate opportunities. Well, that’s exactly what I did during the iMail pre-launch webinar, hosted by Brett Rutecky and Mike from Maine. I asked a respectful, honest question during the live chat: "Hey Brett, I’d love to promote iMail. I’ve got a strong social following, have placed on affiliate leaderboards, and would love to support the launch—could I be considered for affiliate approval?" Pretty straightforward, right? I wasn’t pushy. I wasn’t asking for favors. Just trying to make a connection. But what I got back was a crass, pompous, and shockingly rude response from Brett himself. No joke—it was the kind of reply that makes your jaw drop. You could feel the arrogance through the screen. He spoke down to me like I was nothing. And here's the thing… If That’s How You Treat Affiliates, I Want No Part of Your Software I’m a big believer in mutual respect—especially in this business. Whether someone has 10 followers or 10 million, everyone deserves to be treated like a human. Unfortunately, Brett doesn’t seem to share that belief. His tone during the webinar wasn’t just dismissive to me—he came off abrasive to the entire audience. Which explains why I got hit with that same energy in private. It’s honestly wild to me. In a space like affiliate marketing, where relationships are everything, why treat people like garbage? I was ready to buy iMail. I was ready to promote it. But after seeing how Brett Rutecky engages with his potential partners?
