📉 Is this the bottom for the KSE-100?
Chart work by Faraz says this week could mark the low. His reasons: ✅ Monthly RSI is showing a hidden bullish divergence ✅ Monthly volume is contracting, as it did at the 2020 and 2009 lows ✅ Index is approaching monthly support at 157,040-158,100, untested in nearly 10 years ✅ Chaikin indicator is showing bullish divergence Do you think this week is the bottom? Rs. 5,000 once filled your petrol tank several times over. Today, it barely covers a single visit to the pump.
That gap is inflation at work, quietly eroding the purchasing power of your savings. In this episode of Sarmaaya Explain, we use petrol prices as a yardstick to compare how Rs. 5,000 could have grown across: 📈 Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) 💰 Money market funds 🥇 Gold We also look at why diversification matters during market downturns and how a long-term, multi-asset plan can help you stay ahead of rising living costs. 💡 Key takeaway: Wealth is protected by investing consistently over time, not by chasing short-term gains. ▶️ Watch the full episode: https://youtu.be/7Bjup1ka9Nw?si=AYNAtT86jYuHJA1t 💬 Which asset would you back for the long term: stocks, gold, or mutual funds? Tell us why in the comments. 👇
Exactly what inflation and devaluation of Rupee do to ordinary Pakistani, and they will never understand why it's happening to them.
Two car installments due. A market that's down. And a portfolio that's supposed to cover both. 🚗
In the 11th and 12th installments of our Car Financing Challenge, we pulled money from mutual funds and used dividends to keep the plan running. Not the easiest month, but this is exactly the kind of stress test we started this experiment for. In this update: ✅ How we funded both installments ✅ What's left in the cash buffer ✅ Why Pakistan's IT stocks (Avanceon, Systems, Air Link, PTCL) are under pressure ✅ Our honest take on AVN: revenue is growing, profits aren't. Hold, or rethink? Watch here 👇 https://youtu.be/bQSTCZxX4Cc?si=uX3LVdXMpPr0mYzf Now your turn: if your portfolio was down and a big bill was due, would you sell your stocks, pull from mutual funds, or dip into savings? Tell us in the comments. 👇
Great take, a practical guide which no one gives. Many Gurus just talk theory, to do it practically, it really needs to know the market and understand the risks.
Markets move your stocks. Emotions move your decisions!
One stock is up 40%, another is down 30%, and suddenly your portfolio looks nothing like the plan you started with. What you do next matters more than the market's mood. In our latest video, we take a real PSX portfolio and show how to rebalance it with discipline instead of emotion: ✅ What rebalancing actually means ✅ Why diversification protects you when a sector comes under pressure ✅ How a 25% profit or loss threshold tells you when to act ✅ How to buy and sell to bring allocations back to target ✅ How to read your total returns and dividends ✅ How to track it all with Sarmaaya's portfolio tools A clear rule beats a gut reaction every time. 🎯 ▶️ Watch here: https://youtu.be/5v4tCaxIBY0?si=0ukqysMHxBrqdAT1 💬 Your turn: When one of your stocks jumps 25% or drops 25%, what do you do: trim, add, hold, or just hope? Tell us in the comments, and if you don't follow a rebalancing rule yet, would you try one?
Interesting perspective, if you are an investor who tends to hold technically sound companies, your instinct will be to hold the stock even if it's price is down. As long term it will come back to it's right price and dividends will keep coming. On the other hand if you are a trader then your instinct will be rebalance and minimize your losses.
KSE Analysis:
📌 Summary Headline: KSE100 holds firm at 166,419 — bullish momentum intact but facing resistance headwinds. 📈 Bullish Trend Insights: - EMA Alignment: The index is trading close to the 9‑day EMA (166,573), showing short‑term momentum remains supportive. - Trend Continuity: Longer EMAs (20/50/100/200) are stacked above current price, reflecting a well‑established uptrend from prior months. - Controlled Pullbacks: The modest daily gain (+0.14%) suggests buyers are defending levels, preventing deeper corrections. - Market Psychology: The structure resembles trend continuation, where dips are being absorbed rather than triggering panic selling. ⚠️ Major Threats to the Index: - Resistance Cluster: EMA levels at 168,042–171,859 form a heavy ceiling zone. Sustained rejection here could stall momentum. - Overextension Risk: The rally has been steep; if volume weakens, the index risks a mean reversion pullback toward 163,000–164,000. - Macro Sensitivity: External shocks (political instability, global commodity swings, or foreign outflows) could trigger sharp corrections. - Psychological Barrier: The 170,000 mark is a round‑number resistance — often a battleground for profit‑taking. 📝 Takeaway: The KSE100 remains in a bullish regime, supported by EMA structure and resilient buying. However, the 168k–172k resistance band is the key test. A decisive breakout above this zone could extend the rally, while failure here risks a retracement toward lower supports.
