February sales was rough but I managed to make this with my dropshipping business

I heard people sending thousands of DMS every day (which is probably AI right?). So I'm just getting started in this side hustle and see if I can make money with this till next month. I like Twitter and Instagram, but idk how to research is it like just going to the platform and searching for hashtags or people that you think would be best for your services and just DM them? Is this the process? If yes Then why do many people fail in it and take them so much time to get prospects? what mistakes? and what are the best strategies to not to DM brokies?
