Brazilians have a funny but cute way of adding lots of vowel sounds to English words. Can you think of any other words Brazilians have a special way to pronounce? I’ll start: 🇺🇸McDonalds 🇧🇷 Méquidônaldis

Immigrants who love America 🇺🇸🫡🫶🏻 (Share Your Story)
This is one of my favorite spaces in the community. I’d love for you to share your story. Tell us where you’re from, why you came to the United States, and why you’re proud to call America home today. This is a great opportunity to practice your English while also allowing Americans to hear real success stories from immigrants who love, respect, and appreciate this country just as much as they do. In today’s political climate, one thing I always say is this: if you’re an immigrant who loves America, don’t stay silent. Be loud. Speak up. Too often, the loudest voices end up shaping how immigrants are perceived. But the truth is, there are countless immigrants who are deeply grateful for the opportunities they’ve found here and who genuinely love this country. Your story matters. Your voice matters. I can’t think of a better place for us to share those stories than right here.

New coming!
Hello everyone! Good evening! Nice to join this community. I hope I can learn a lot from all of you. And @Mackenzie Marino my huge tks for the opportunity! I'm originally from Manaus, but now I live in Florianópolis, I moved from the north to the south of Brazil! Today, I'm as a Project Manager at a microelectronics company, but my graduation is Computer Science. I'm also a proud father of two amazing kids: Luciano Filho, who is 24, and Lucca Heitor, who is 14. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing experiences! Have good week all.

Week 1 Challenge 🎙️
Every week, I’ll post a short text for you to read out loud and record yourself. This is one of the best ways to improve your pronunciation because it helps you notice your mistakes and track your progress over time. Here’s how it works: 1. Read the text out loud and record yourself. Don’t overthink it; just do your best! 2. Upload your recording in the comments so you can get personalized feedback. 3. Only after you’ve recorded yourself, listen to my audio. Think of it as an answer key. Compare your pronunciation, rhythm, stress, and intonation with mine. 💡 Pro tip: Save your recording! In 3 or 4 weeks, record yourself reading the exact same text again. You’ll be surprised by how much you’ve improved.

@Milena Hill Hey Milena! You did a great job! You spoke really well. It’s clear that you already have a strong foundation, and you speak with confidence and good fluency. I could understand you without any problems. The main thing I’d like you to work on is your intonation. I think that, in an effort to speak faster, your intonation sometimes sounded a little too similar to the rhythm and melody of Portuguese. That’s completely normal, and it’s really just a small habit to adjust. Don’t be afraid to slow down a little when you need to. Focus on the natural rise and fall of English, because that’s what will make you sound even more like a native speaker. Keep it up 🔥

@Daniel Costa thank you for participating in our challenge, Daniel 🫶🏻🔥 you did a good job, but of course there are areas of improvement especially for your pronunciation and fluency. I’ve created this sheet giving you the exact Portuguese sounds of these words. This type of technique works wonders for some, so I think that’s definitely something worth trying. Take a look and let me know if it helps at all. Keep up the good work!!
