Challenge Day 5
I slept in a bit today 😴 My family had a long day of wedding preparation, culminating with the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. I’m so excited to celebrate my sister’s marriage tomorrow! No exercise picture today (but I did do some knee-strengthening reps to make sure I make it to the finish line on race day!). I meditated on the Sorrowful Mysteries tonight and petitioned Our Lady for the patience in adversity that our Lord exemplified during His Passion. I walked ten steps with Him during the ten Hail Mary’s of the fourth Mystery. How much more we can undergo if we only ask for the strength!

Challenge Day 5
Challenge Day 4
Today was a good day. I woke up early and ran after work. I prayed a rosary and drove to Massachusetts for my sister’s wedding on Saturday. I also had a difficult, but revelatory, conversation today about some issues that have been on my mind for a while. I’m thankful for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and pray that He will stay with me while I continue my discernment.

Challenge Day 4
Challenge Day 3
I got a full night’s sleep and woke up more refreshed than I have in a few days. After work I went on a run to continue training for my big race at the end of the month. I just finished praying the rosary to close out my day. While running I was taken in by the beauty of God’s creation. He made it all for each of us. Each day’s sunrise and sunset are a work of art by our Creator, and we can pause and appreciate these works. What a blessing that we get to experience His creation!

Challenge Day 2
I came off duty today and went on a run after work. I wrapped up my night with my rosary and prayers of protection for me and my family. I’m continuing to pray for the Holy Spirit to work within the lives of my loved ones, and for Mary, Undoer of Knots, to help me. Good night!

Challenge Day 2
Challenge Day 1
Today I was standing duty at the Naval Station. I thought I was well-prepared for my day, but when Father Fleming put out the call, and I realized I had forgotten my rosary at home! I had a very active day and walked around the command grounds plenty (16K steps? Easy with the views from the office!). I took a pause after dinner to pray a rosary with Hallow leading. I found myself thinking of the Lord’s command to the deaf man, “Ephphetha!” This was an order to the man’s senses, but in our reading the Gospel it is also a command to us as followers of Christ, to be opened to the Holy Spirit. Any of us struggling in life need to open ourselves to give God space and allow Him to work in us. Looking forward to the rest of the challenge!
