Hi everyone – I am late to the intro party and all the parties here! Just been catching up today. My name is Liz Christiansen and I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Brisbane. I currently work across mixed media - collage & acrylic mostly at the moment but I am also building work in the surface pattern design space. For my day job, I am a graphic designer working within branding, packaging, print and digital design in my own business but after over 26 years as a graphic designer, I am ready to shake things up. I hope one day I can do less brief driven client work and more of the artwork I want to do – and someone will pay me for it! ha! The dream right 😃 At the start of last year I exhibited my first original artwork since high school at Studio on Brunswick in the summer showcase and won the emerging artist award on the night which connected me with an incredible coach and mentor Lyne! Over the last year I have really loved the community that has grown for me within this space – meeting some wonderful like-minded creatives and becoming an artist affiliate for Studio on Brunswick has been a highlight. Currently I am building a body of work – working towards my first solo in October at Emergent Gallery. I have enjoyed reading everyone’s intro posts and look forward to getting to know you all more over the program.

Hello Everyone! I finally have the time to complete my wheels and do a bit of an introduction to you all! Or should I say, I've carved out the time to do it! We all get caught up in the day to day of our lives that sometimes you can find it hard to stop and work on your own things! GUILTY! So, I am Dan. I have recently come on board as Assistant Director but Lyne and I have been friends and colleagues for many years. My art practice includes jewellery and painting in both watercolour and acrylic (at this stage). I also dabble in Fresco and am wanting to get back into oil painting! I am always looking at ways to do art and creative endeavours, although I find working seems to get in the way! lol. I used to run a school in Brisbane called DAP Jewellery School, have taught at the Brisbane Institute of Art, Cobb & Co Museum Toowoomba, Redland Shire Council, Caboolture Council and University of Southern Queensland. I am now starting to teach again after a 5 year break and am slowly building momentum to open a dedicated teaching space in the future here in Bendigo, Victoria. Over the years I have sold works through galleries, markets, trade events, exhibitions and online. I have experience in product development, wholesaling, production manufacturing and feel like I have tried my hand at most things to market, sell and hock my wares! 😁 I'm excited to be apart of this group and program for the next 6 months and learn some new skills that will help me identify areas that I can improve! It's a never ending process! I'm also happy to share my experience, so if you ever have any questions you think I may be able to help you with, please don't hesitate to ask!
