Meta won't tell you this, so I will.
I’m at the Meta Sydney offices every month, catching up with Account Managers. If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Meta is built of isolated teams. They launch features constantly but rarely announce them to the public. My #1 takeaway from yesterday's meeting? You need to update your "Existing Customer" audiences immediately. There is a quiet update that now allows you to retarget "Shopping" audiences for up to 365 days. This is massive for capturing high-intent data that usually gets lost. Here is the 1 minute setup: 1. Go to Audiences > Create Custom Audience. 2. Under "Meta Sources," select Shopping (circled in the image). 3. For Facebook: Select your Page, choose "People who purchased any products," and set retention to 365 days. 4. For Instagram: Repeat the process, but switch the platform to "Instagram Account." Why this matters: Most founders rely on pixel data that expires quickly. This uses Meta’s internal shopping data to keep your purchaser list alive for a full year. Go update your settings now.
