Canterbury/Kent boot Sales ?
Hi all ! I’m up North from Devon 😂 to see some family . I thought I’d get a cheeky boot sale in before we leave tomorrow . Does anyone have any recommendations for this part of the country, I primarily go for shoe ! Grateful for any recommendations:)

Biggest one (but about a 50 min drive from Canterbury) is Pedham Place Bootsale. You've also got Greenfields bootsale near Chatham (about 30 mins from Canterbury). There are also some down on the coast at Whitstable (25 mins from Canterbury). You may find other smaller ones but these are the ones I've been to/heard about most.
Watch battery replacement
Anyone know where I can get someone to do battery replacements for watches? I’ve tried Timpsons but they cost a fortune! Any guidance appreciated 👍

Try your local market or a local shoe repair/key cutter/watch battery replacement shop. Depending on the watch it’s normally pretty easy to replace the battery yourself. A few screws, a battery from pound land or Amazon and sometimes a clasp to open and close. Plenty of YouTube videos on it.
assistance please❤️
Hey guys! my stock is drying up from the same charity shop and carboot in my town. Could anyone possibly share their go‑to sourcing ideas? anything really Thanks so much 🙏

1. Go to every charity shop in X miles radius (up to you how far you’re willing to travel). Check their stock, speak with the manager, let them know you’re a reseller who will bulk buy from them, try to set up regular stock with them. Also ask about their local charity warehouse and if you can get a contact for the warehouse manager. 2. Check for other bootfairs in your desired radius. Sometimes you’ll have to travel a bit. 3. At bootfairs ask any seller you buy from if they have more. If they do, get their number (call it there and then to check it’s real), try and set up a private pick. Also speak to house clearance and make a contact (they may already have someone who buys X category from them but if you can show you’ll pay more they may include you or switch to you). 4. Contact local house clearance companies and make contacts (not all will sell at bootfairs) 5. Consider your local auction houses and see if they have any general sales. 6. Post a listing on market place asking for whatever stock you’re looking for. You can also post an ad in your local Facebook groups (if the admins allow or see if you have a local selling page). 7. Tell your friends and family you’re a reseller. They may have stock or know people who have stock. 8. Know your competition and make friends with them. I’m made thousands off relationships with my competition where we’ve had different margins or we point out secondary categories that we don’t share when we’re at the boot sale. E.g. I do gaming, audio, vintage tech and cameras, my competitors generally only do gaming, but one or two point out other bits and call me if they’re ahead of me and see something good. 9. EBay, vinted, fb market place, gumtree, freecycle. I don’t do it myself but you can use these to potentially get more stock although your buy price is likely to be higher than at bootfairs.
What Sold Faster Than Expected?
I’m curious to hear what everyone’s experience has been with this. What’s one item you bought recently that completely surprised you with how quickly it sold? Sometimes you pick something up thinking it might sit for a while, and then suddenly it sells almost immediately 😂 For me, I always find it interesting when an item I wasn’t particularly excited about ends up being one of the quickest sellers. What was the item, where did you source it from, and how long did it take to sell? Would be interesting to see what unexpected items are moving quickly for other UK sellers at the moment. 👇

I bought some conferencing equipment (23 items) from a charity shop for that they’d got from an office clear out. It was almost all sealed and I took a chance and priced high. Figured as it was niche it would take a while to sell. Ended up selling 18 of them within the first two weeks at full price through GSP to America.

@Olivia Parker it was some polycom equipment which I’d seen used before in my 9-5 so I knew there would be some demand. I did a quick eBay and google search of the product models. The fact it was almost all sealed helped too. The 18 that sold within the first two weeks were all the same model number, so I just did a multiple quantity listing and then got an offer for 10 and an offer for 8. Turned the £175 I paid into just over 2 grand once all the items were sold.
New to the group and New to reselling
Hi all, been enjoying the youtube content and really want to get into reselling. So far i've just got a taste for it from just selling a load of my old stuff on ebay. But i'll be honest i'm a bit overwhelmed about knowing whats a good deal in Charity shops and Car boots. If anyone could give me a few ideas about how to start to learn, that would be great. Thanks!

I’d suggest a mix of things: 1. Start off with what you know or that you’d be interested in actually researching. 2. Give yourself a budget that you can speculate with. I give myself £20-30 every bootfair that I can spend on something I have no idea what it is. Over the years it’s helped me pick up multiple bolos (be on the lookout) and broadened my knowledge. 3. Don’t be afraid to make a small loss or to break even if it means you’re learning.
