Your favorite camp games/activities?
Hey coaches, I run a bunch of NIKE Basketball Camps during the summer. Always looking to improve our curriculum. Any coaches have some camp games/activities that have worked well and athletes enjoy? Just drop a comment below with yours!

@Travis Arkwright do you stat this yourself? What's your system for data collection? Seems like you have a good one.

@Travis Arkwright this is awesome. Thanks for sharing! Do you have an example you could share? Would love to see it!
RDS
Summer install of RDS is underway. Our summer schedule is screwed up a little so I have had 5 games and 2 practices. Unfortunately, due to baseball at practice we had to repeat a lot of the transition rolls and explanation so I feel as if I've had 1 practice. First glance of playing games after the transition rolls of Racker and Runner, guys are freed up and starting to understand the pace we want to play at. We have doubled our scoring output from the first game of summer to now. I have only given them the fingers and follow action/ghost if we are neutral. I'm a believer and am excited to continue digging into this. I'm trying not to overwhelm them with stuff so we are just racing at this point! Thanks SAVI

@Luke Smith, enjoyed reading your update! I'm curious, how did you introduce your first couple actions and how quickly did they catch on?

@Luke Smith yeah thatโ€™s tough for sure! I always tend towards keeping things simple and letting them play fast. Itโ€™s amazing what happens when a team plays fast and spaces the floor well. Add clear shot selection to that and magic starts to happen!
Numbered positions?
Recently got into a debate with a coach on using traditional numbered basketball positions for coaching 1 point guard 2 shooting guard etc. What are the benefits? What are the drawbacks? Is that old school? Have we modernized to new language? Should we still use it or not? What does SAVI think?

@Troy Wallace great share, coach! I'm curious, how quickly did they adapt to the style of play without any practice time together?
Practice Planner
Hey all! I have been listening to the SAVI podcasts for quite some time now. I coach 6th grade school and AAU basketball. My son is 12 and a pretty talented player, so I have been supporting him on his journey. I really got into small sided games and playing basketball instead of just running drills. In one of the last podcasts there was discussion around formatting practices with the quarters concept. As I am a technology consultant, former software engineer leading a team of 50 software engineers, I decided to create something to help me with my practice plans following this format. I am still working on new features, but it helped me with my practice last night. I thought I would share here in the event others are interested. Please note that all data is stored on your local storage of the browser and not a persistent database yet. So if you clear your local storage, you will lose anything you had saved. Was building this as a proof of concept to start. NOW: Partnering with SAVI to build out SAVI Sync. Check it out at https://sync.savicoach.com
