Logbook knowledge from a truck driver that’s been driving food for thought anybody could leave a comment
A drivers daily work A driver could work 14 hours in the day. The driver does 11 hours of driving and he takes a 30 minute break. That leaves the shipper 1 hour to load that driver and it leaves the receiver 1 hour to unload him correct stay with me. The driver drives at (60 miles an hour for 5 hours that gives him 300 miles) that he drove. the driver does an (average mile) that’s 10 miles off of that 60 which it leaves (50 miles an hour For 6 hours of driving that leaves him with 300 miles) The driver drove (600 miles in that day and the driver did 11 hours of driving) here’s the calculation. 60x5=300 there’s the first question now 50x6=300 there is the second question now so you can see the results (300+300=600) now comes the results on the hours 60x5+50x6 (5+6=11) how many hours a driver could drive in the day. now that 50 miles an hour for 6 hours “why it stays” at 50 miles at 6 hours that takes care of (“traffic jams”. “ It takes care of accidents”. “It takes care of road conditions & construction”. and also all the (up mountains and down mountains) that the driver has to drive that will always stay the same. 50x6=300. The only one that changes is the (60 miles an hour at 5 hours).(“The driver could be doing 65 miles an hour at 5 hours”).(“That driver could also be doing 70 miles an hour at 5hours”). That’s the only one that changes all the time this is from a truck driver’s experience on the road

Well, thank you. I’m a truck driver. I’ve been driving since 2004 and I’ve been working with the paper logs and the electrical logs and I already see how it’s worked and has done.

He’s gotta make sure you know what time that driver started in the morning what time he finishes in the evening some drivers will do that you need to learn their logbook the way they do it so you can program your time schedule with them but the way that’s that I put it out is just plainly the basics Because that’s DOT labor board all that into that logbook at once if the driver does more than a 14 hour workday somebody’s gonna have to pay for that and get fine and arrested. If the driver drives more than 11 hours in that day, the main thing that a lot of these drivers don’t know is that it is continuous One hour after the other that’s what they’re violating and they gonna be a lot of drivers out of business for that

I want to get these 3 things from this course/community: 1.  Excited to Learn the in and outs of dispatching so I can return the favor to new comers in the future. 2.  Be able to get to a point where I can be a successful independent company owner so I can help others do the same. 3. Networking is key, I want to be able to meet new people, build business and personal relationships to succeed in the Dispatching Industry. Continue learning is something I am always looking forward to doing. Learn from other and learn from the courses, learn for the workshops. For fun I like to do these 3 things: 1.  Spend quality time with my family. 2.  Enjoy playing and watching sports. 3. I recently learned I really enjoy reading. Gaining knowledge in different areas of Business Finance and many more. Just curious, How many of y'all come from a Corporate job, and how many years were you in the Corporate work.

Well, I’m a truck driver at trade. I’ve been driving semi trucks truck and trailers since 2004 and these electrical logbook they’re not letting you cheat on these books the way a lot of people think that you can so be careful being a dispatcher and learning how to do your dispatching Playing basics. A driver has a 14 hour work window within those 14 hours. He only could drive 11 hours and before that eighth hour he has to take a 30 minute break so as being a dispatcher out here hopefully you get those calculations correct and the driver does not get into any violations

This is a simple calculation for you to understand. The driver drives at 60 miles an hour and he drives for five hours. How many miles did he drive? 60x5=300 now the driver has to show an average mile of driving so from that 60 miles an hour take away 10 miles from it that leaves you 50 miles an hour correct 60-10=50 so the question is now the driver drives 50 miles an hour and he did six hours of driving at 50. How many miles did he drive? 50x6=300 that is 300 miles. How many miles could a driver drive in one day of his 11 hours of driving the math is there for you and it’s showing that they’re completely. The driver did 60 miles an hour for five hours 300 the driver did 50 miles an hour at six hours which that is 300 that gives you 600 miles of driving now here’s the question again. The driver did 50 miles an hour at six hours and he also did 60 miles an hour at five hours. How many hours did he drove? 5+6=11 and how many hours of driver could do in a 14 hour workday how many hours could he drive 11 so there’s your calculation you need to learn
