I think grammar study can be really helpful, but it's all about balance. The main risk is getting too caught up in rules, which can make you sound choppy and unnatural because you're overthinking everything. But here's the thing: if you use grammar study as a support tool rather than your main focus, it can actually help you understand patterns and tackle tricky structures faster. The sweet spot seems to be learning grammar alongside lots of natural conversation practice, not instead of it. My own experience doing tons of grammar study with English is that it really helps in breaking down the language in more manageable chunks and making it digestible (as an initial step). You won't be using the actual grammar rules in the long term, for the most part.
