Hi all! Thank you for your patience! I'm now 3 chapter (and many modules) deep into the NBAA CAM deep dive and will start populating a course over the next week. As soon as content goes live I will let you know and you can begin your journey, hopefully just ahead of the 6 month to CAM starting soon!! Are there any specific features you want to see?

Hi Jean, I appreciate anything you share with us no matter how in depth you go, ultimately it is up to us to do the work. I would be interested in hearing about your journey and thoughts about how you approached this certification. How would you do it differently, or not? How has it changed your views on flight operations? And, do you think the course adds value at the end of the day for a pilot, or is this more geared for management and just nice to know info for a pilot? I should clarify that I'm asking this from the point of view of a small Part 91 operator (pilot/aircraft manager). I'm looking forward to what you share with us. Logan

There are roughly 1,500 NBAA CAMs in the world. Here's what separates the pilots who earn it from the ones who never hear about it. I've been sitting on this idea for a while, and it's time to bring it to the Lab. I want to run a structured CAM prep workshop right here in this community. Before I share the format, I want to tell you why it matters. The NBAA Certified Aviation Manager designation is the only credential in business aviation that says: this person understands the full picture. Not just the aircraft. The operations. The regulations. The business decisions. The safety culture. The leadership requirements that make a flight department actually work at a high level. I earned mine years ago. It changed how I thought about my role. Not because the exam was hard, although it is. Because the preparation forced me to think like a manager of the operation, not just a pilot in it. That shift is irreversible once it happens. In business aviation, the people running flight departments and influencing decisions at the executive level are mostly CAMs or they're working with CAMs. It is not a box-checking credential. It is a signal to every operator, every chief pilot, and every Director of Aviation you will ever work for, that you have done the work to think beyond the left seat. If you have been considering it and never knew where to start, or started and stalled, or didn't know there was a community willing to work through it with you, I want to change that. I am building something here. Stay tuned. Who in the community has their CAM, is working toward it, or has been curious about it? Drop it below. This will shape what we build together.

Stop taking messy notes πŸ€“
Finally put together something on my favorite note taking app - Goodnotes. What's your favorite method to take notes during ground school?

@Jean Denis Marcellin Hello Jean, thank you for your hard work putting together this community of aviator enthusiast. Hello fellow Members, my name is Logan, I'm from Texas, USA and currently live and work in Tokyo, Japan flying the PC-12 and PC-24. Besides the flying aspect of the job, I'm actively helping the company grow their flight department and also training Japanese pilots to eventually become captains. I don't usually join online groups or social media platforms, as I'm busy enough in my daily life, but when I was searching YouTube for some information on people who did their CAM certification I came across Jean's post. He had a great idea to use his time wisely during covid to enhance his learning with his CAM certification, and I'm interested in that too. After watching his video I discovered some similar aviation interest and decided to follow him and see how I could learn from him. For fun I like to travel around Japan, meet other pilots, or play sports of some kind; almost anything outdoors is fine for me. Well, I look forward to interacting with y'all, I may not be the most responsive at times as my schedule can be very busy, but I'll be checking in often. And, I also plan to contribute when I have something interesting to share or if you have questions for me.

@Jean Denis Marcellin Thank you! Yes, I would like to get your input about the CAM in the near future. At the moment I'm trying to convince the company I'm working with to rethink there operations set up as it is not well organized, or could be much better. I have their ear on some things but not on others, and it's preventing them from developing professionally. I would like to better my understanding of the formation of a professionally structured flight department, and enhance my personal aviation development as well. Also, I was watching your video on the Notebook software, that's incredible what it can do. My mind was running wild on all the benefits a flight department could get out of it, and possibly have it write all my regulatory compliance paperwork that is so laborious. πŸ˜€ Logan
