a religious figure, a lawyer, and a physicist. The religious figure: When asked for his last words, he calmly replied: "Only God can save me." The blade fell… but stopped just at his neck. Everyone believed it was a miracle and let him go. The lawyer: When it was his turn, he said confidently: "I am not religious, but I know justice... and it will save me." The blade descended and came to rest at his neck. It was then believed that justice had prevailed, and he was released. The physicist: The physicist, before his execution, declared with the certainty of a scientist: “I am not religious, and I do not understand justice in the same way as a lawyer,” But I know there's a knot in the rope that's preventing the blade from falling. The executioners searched for and indeed found the knot… which they then fixed. The blade then fell and ended his life. Moral : Sometimes, in moments of danger, true intelligence doesn't consist of saying everything you know… but knowing when to remain silent and when to feign ignorance.
