What's YOUR favorite juice? Today we are celebrating the most refreshing thing you can put in your body. I am a juice girl through and through. There is something about a cold fresh pressed juice that just makes everything feel better. And today we are talking about four of my absolute favorites and why each one deserves a permanent spot in your life. ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ…ฐ๐Ÿ…ฟ๐Ÿ…ฟ๐Ÿ…ป๐Ÿ…ด ๐Ÿ…น๐Ÿ†„๐Ÿ…ธ๐Ÿ…ฒ๐Ÿ…ด First things first โ€” fresh pressed apple juice and store bought apple juice are two completely different things. Store bought is essentially sugar water with the good stuff stripped out. Fresh pressed? That's where the magic is. ๐ŸŒฟ Fresh apple juice is loaded with quercetin โ€” a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to reduce inflammation, support brain health, and even protect against certain cancers. It also contains vitamin C, potassium, and malic acid which supports liver function and gives you that gorgeous tart flavor. Green apples give you a sharper more tart juice. Red apples give you something sweeter and more mellow. The stuff in the carton has been sitting in oxygen depleted storage tanks for up to a year before it hits shelves. Fresh pressed orange juice tastes like an entirely different drink and once you go fresh you SIMPLY cannot go back. PERIOD. carrot actually!! I've been told that carrot juice made ALL the difference for a friend who was severely anemic and I'm not doing a great job at being consistent, but I'm hopeful that the rhythm will become easy to keep soon :) I got rid of my juicer so I've been blending 4 cups of carrots at a time, starting with 1 cup of water and then straining and blending 4 more cups of chopped carrots, straining and then doing it one more time... figure that ups the amount of whatever it is the carrots are giving me and it's working really well!

@Jenny Rader-Bakos ah!! I have been freezing the pulp and then adding it to meatballs or sauces - itโ€™s not actually a juice if I leave the pulp in ๐Ÿ˜‚ More like sludge! I like your idea of adding all those extras too!!

Today is all about our WINS, Big or small โ€” let's drop them below because we celebrate ALL of it in here. I'll go first. This week I'm claiming something a little mysterious. ๐Ÿ˜„ I gave up something this week that I have genuinely loved for years. I'm not ready to spill it just yet โ€” but I will soon. ๐Ÿซฃ What I WILL tell you is that this was my first full week without it and I feel more clear headed and refreshed than I have in a long time. Was it a little rough? Absolutely. Was it worth it? Without a doubt, yes it will be. ๐ŸŒฟ Now for the funNER part โ€” what are we up to this weekend friends?! ๐ŸŽ‰ My granddaughter turns ONE today and tomorrow I am showing up with an entire spread of 100% whole food plant-based goodness for her PaRtY. A whole first birthday party about to find out that plant-based food absolutely slaps. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒฟ And I just pulled THESE beauties out of the oven for tomorrow. ๐Ÿž Because sourdough makes everything better. Then one of my students dropped this gem during a sourdough workshopโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Wet it. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Wad it up. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Smooth it back out. Bingo bango โ€” it behaves like a dream ๐Ÿซฃ Today I am in full prep mode and not playing around: HIGE pot of chili โœ”๏ธ 3 bean salad โœ”๏ธ Pre-cooked rice โœ”๏ธ Mushroom jerky โœ”๏ธ 1,000 island dressing โœ”๏ธ Roasted tators โœ”๏ธ Brookies โœ”๏ธโœ”๏ธโœ”๏ธ Got a double batch of brookies baking as I type ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป Aaannnnndddd I scored a new nut butter at Costco and I am obseesed with it! Healthy AF, no added oil, and no added sugar ๐Ÿฅณ Last up after a little breaky break: carrot, apple, ginger, lemon juice to seal the deal ๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŽ๐Ÿซš๐Ÿ‹ Do you have a set food prep day OR do you just wing it?
