Thanks for the welcome!
I’m Joyce, born in Guatemala to missionary parents. I was raised an MK, then married a man who also has the call of God on his life for missions work. We are career missionaries (40+ yrs) and even though we are retirement age we are not ready to quit. So we live and do missions work part of the year in Guatemala & Central America, as well as France & Spain. We have 4 children (all raised as MK’s too) and now they’re grown, married, with kids of their own — our beautiful 9 grands, the delight of my life. So part of the year we live at our cabin in the North Georgia mountains and spend our days traveling to visit our family as well as deputation missions fundraising, speaking at churches, etc. I don’t have a community or business… yet. I am still praying, studying, learning and hoping for connections and suggestions. Looking forward to getting to know you all better in the community.

I love your story too and can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you and what you are going to build with Him!!

@Joyce Tyson so happy to hear that and feeling blessed to be a blessing which has been a saying close to my heart for many, many years!
Happy to be here.
Hello, I’m Berenice and I’m excited to be here ❤️ I’m a stay at home homeschool mom of three kiddos, ages 17,13, and 3. So there’s always adventure in my house😂 I have a great husband, and he has been a pastor of the same church for almost 18 years. We love what we do❤️ My favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and thrift store shopping, mainly for books 😅 An interesting fact about me is that I went to live to Mexico when I was 20 years old as a volunteer interpreter for a missionary family and that is where I met my husband. I learned to butcher pigs, make homemade tortillas, and ride a donkey for transportation. I love the memories I made there! I am very new to the online space, but just today I opened up my community, Growing Hearts and Minds🎉 it’s a community for mothers who are raising their children with values in mind. We will grow as a family and my purpose is to help mothers raise children who love God and will be good citizens❤️ Come join us https://www.skool.com/growing-hearts-and-minds-6452/about?ref=27225c6781e8453fa7dfe3899de0596f
Happy to be here.

@Kim Job that box of tape makes me so mad - training kids to sit still and shut up for hours at a time has done so much damage over the years. Our homeschool experience was far from perfect, but letting them run and play throughout the day was a big part of why we started.

@Kim Job "behind" is subjective. And sad. I've seen reels for outdoor school and that looks interesting but I personally loved the flexibility to just do school wherever we happened to be when the kids were little and the years where we could just go with the flow and enjoy nature and really wonderful books were my absolute favourite!
Hi everyone! I’m Donna. ❤️
I’m a retired educator who somehow found her way into entrepreneurship and community building. 😂 I’ve learned that I really love bringing people together, asking good questions, and figuring out how we create spaces where people genuinely know and support one another. @Lisa Vanderveen Lisa's vision for this community caught my attention because I love the idea of having a place where faith and business don’t have to live in separate boxes. I’m still building, learning, questioning, and figuring things out too, and I’m looking forward to being able to have some of those conversations here with people who understand both. Outside of business, I’m a Kentucky girl, married to my childhood friend, and pretty happy anytime life gives me a reason to slow down, laugh, and enjoy the people around me. ❤️ Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

@Joyce Tyson wow!!! How do you transport and store all of your goods? How do you plan for what you will need? And how often do you need to make that day long trip??? As a homeschool mom, I spent a lot of time researching how to make life easier and once a month shopping and meal prep was always something that sounded so good to me but in actual practice ended up completely overwhelming me cause I’d be physically exhausted by the time everything was taken care of.. and too often stuff spoiled cause I couldn’t finish the job and then avoided coming back to it 😭

@Joyce Tyson oh I hear you on eating healthier - I wish I had the energy to make everything I could from scratch..with 5 kids, I tried, but became completely overwhelmed with a million projects on the go at once - that definitely had to do with my management "style" at the time too though, so there is that 🤪 For sure homeschooling is an investment and not for the faint of heart, but I can't help but say that part of that is expectations :) We have certain expectations of what "school" should look like and "school" at home certainly was not what I expected - but I put us in the system of BC with an overseeing teacher for several years at a time off an on throughout our journey which had us with one foot in the system and one out. My last two have had overseeing teachers for the last few years, but that was never my intention - if I had had the energy and capacity, I would have loved to say I homeschooled all 5 from beginning to end but I needed to prioritize my healing journey to get to where I am now 🥰 And I actually think it's been the best possible choice for these two kids in particular :) Especially after covid. They needed more than I could give them when all of our social networks disappeared.

Levelling Up won’t always be this celebrated…
But for today, it’s part of the PARTAY!!! @Heather Boers just reached level 2 in less than 30 minutes and honestly once we start having out here, that level is reached in no time flat! We have lots of Skoolers here but also a few new faces from FB, so I’m gonna be sharing a little bit of Skool basics for our complete newbies!! Levelling up will be unlocking doors very soon - we’re just in messy builder mode right now and I want to make sure the level up rewards are what we as a community decide are awesome rewards!! So for now, make sure you’re commenting and posting your intros and giving everybody little thumbs up for encouragement - every one of those things contributes to the points we earn. Thanks for jumping in with both feet Heather!!
