Feeling Swamped? Stop Trying to Do More!
Hey everyone, can we get honest for a second? We’re all bombarded with advice: “You need to wake up at 4 AM! You need 10 side-hustles! You need to post 3 times a day!” It honestly makes me tired just thinking about it. We end up just piling on tasks until we feel totally burned out, right? I recently heard something from Alex Hormozi that really hit me: True success isn't about the things you must do; it's about the things you can successfully avoid doing. Seriously. Think about that. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s not because you’re lazy. It’s because you’re probably spending 80% of your precious energy on tasks that deliver 0% of your results. The Compassionate Cut: Where We Get Our Energy Back This isn't about being harsh; it's about being kind to your future self by protecting your focus. Here are three things I've personally had to brutally cut out to finally see traction: 1. Stop Being a Slave to "The Notifications" - The Problem: We treat our phones like an emergency service. Every 'ding' breaks our concentration, costing us 20 minutes to fully get back into deep work. That constant checking is anxiety-driven, not results-driven. - The Action: Schedule your contact time. Use Do Not Disturb for 90-minute blocks. The world will not end. - The Result: You stop reacting to other people's priorities and finally start dedicating focused, high-quality time to your goals. That's where the magic happens. 2. Stop Chasing "Perfect" (It’s a Trap!) 🕸️ - The Problem: We waste weeks polishing something that isn't even proven yet. That little voice telling you it's "not ready" is just fear whispering. - The Action: Adopt an "80% Done, Ship It Now" mantra. Get your product, your first post, or your pitch out the door. - The Result: You trade endless worrying for real-world feedback. Feedback is the fuel for growth; perfection is the parking brake. 3. Stop Comparing Your Start to Someone Else's Middle - The Problem: Scrolling through success stories and thinking you're behind. This is the fastest way to kill your motivation. Comparison is a thief of joy and energy. - The Action: Mute or unfollow accounts that make you feel small or inadequate. Follow people who inspire you to do work, not just wish you were successful. - The Result: You free up the emotional energy spent on self-criticism and redirect it to appreciating your own journey and your unique progress.
