Day 3: Daily Challenge
Today we are focused on student empowerment. A great way for students to feel empowered is to understand that success is actually possible. One way to do that, is by inspiring them with your own story of struggle to success. It doesn't have to be anything extreme, but something that demonstrates an obstacle that you overcame. For today's challenge, write a short example of a triumph story that you have. What is something you can share with students to let them know that "overcoming" is possible? Comment your example down below, and be sure to engage with other comments! Here is a framework you can use to quickly tell a powerful story of triumph. 1. Relatable hook: connect your struggle to something they can understand. 2. Emotions experienced: explain how it made you feel. 3. Epiphany bridge: tell what happened to lead to success. 4. Picture of success: Describe the success with clarity, feelings, and emotion. Daryl's example: (1) I almost gave up on teaching before I even started because I failed the praxis so many times. (2) I felt dumb, inadequate, and as if I had wasted four years of college. (3) However, I knew that it was possible, and believed that I was capable. I purchased an online course to help me study, and on the third try, I finally passed and became certified. (4) From there I went on to become a two-time teacher of the year, school administrator, author, and international speaker. If I would have given up when I wanted to, I would've never made the impact I was created to make.

I went to college for the first time at 37 years old. I did community college then received a scholarship to attend a university for a teaching program. I graduated and the rest is history! I am now 50 years old and have been teaching for almost 9 years. My students know that I will never give up on them just like I never gave up on myself 😊❤️💯!

Day 4: Daily Challenge
Today we are focused on endurance and extension. A huge part of endurance is self-care. For today's challenge, try the 5-5-5 Reset. Take a moment throughout the day to try the following sequence. 5 deep breaths – Inhale slowly through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale through your mouth. 5-minute break – Step away from work, stretch, take a short walk, or listen to your favorite song. 5 words of affirmation – Tell yourself something positive. Comment down below how you felt after the reset, and when you think this sequence can be helpful. Be sure to engage with other comments! Here are some affirmations to give you inspiration: I am making a difference, even on tough days. I am enough, just as I am. I choose progress over perfection. I cannot pour from an empty cup—I deserve rest. I release what I cannot control. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. I am creating a positive impact, one student at a time. I give myself grace because I am human, too. I am strong, capable, and resilient. My well-being matters as much as my students’. Take a deep breath and remind yourself—you’re doing incredible work!

I tried the reset because it was an extremely hectic day. However, it did not work for me 😩. I think I was too much in my head and not enough in my heart…if that makes sense. Iwi keep trying though because I feel it will be beneficial.
