Why we do this
There was a moment — maybe quiet, maybe overwhelming — when you knew this horse life was for you. Gypsy horses don’t just enter our barns… they enter our hearts. 💭 Reflection Question: What made you fall in love with Gypsy horses in the first place? ✨ Share your story below.

Honestly, vanners and friesians have been dream horses of mine since I was a little kid. When a friend of mine told me about a herd dispersal near me I had to reach out. I ended up buying a friesian vanner cross mare. I then walked through the herd and saw this one gypsy vanner mare and thought she was so pretty! I asked if she was for sale and they said not at that time. Jump a head about a month after buying my cross mare. Nakiska pops up on Facebook feed for sale! (The lovely mare I saw in there pasture) not only was she bred to a vanner stud but I also found out she was very well broke to ride. After a very tactical talk with my boyfriend about her foal bringing a decent price when we sell it (hopefully lol) we bought her too! Right away I noticed a difference in their personality from the many quarter horses I have owned and trained. Dont get me wrong, there are some lovely light horses out there but the vanners were more curious, more gentle minded, more in tune to what was around them. Gypsy, my cross mare is basically a saint Bernard. Shes so funny and goofy but loyal to a fault. Nikki, is boss mare shes steady to a fault, keeps everyone in line without being to harsh but falls asleep when I braid her mane just standing loose out in the open. I was pregnant when I bought both mares. I have since had my baby a week ago, and cannot wait to work with both of these lovely ladies!
