always talk to the security guard... 🚀
Wanted to share a cool little win from today, plus a couple behind the scenes photos of today's simple setup (there's another fill light you can't see lol)... Started the day with a corporate headshot session, and the entire shoot went incredibly well from start to finish. The energy was great, everything flowed seamlessly, and they already asked to bring me back for future projects before I even packed up! I genuinely love it when a client relationship works out well and grows into a long-term partnership!! 🤩 But the absolute highlight happened on my way out. I stopped to ask a security guard for directions and we ended up chatting for a bit. She told me she'd literally just been venting to someone that morning about how stressed she was trying to find a photographer, and then I happened to walk right past her with all my gear. Such a wild coincidence, one of those right place, right time kind of things. We're getting her daughter set up with some acting headshots! Great reminder that opportunities really are everywhere if you're open to connecting with people. Hell yeah to good momentum! Let's finish the week strong and keep this energy going 🔥🔥

@Luka Williams for the studio set up I use 2x Godox MS300V Lights. I also have Godox V1S for on extra or on camera flash. Everything was from Amazon, it's pretty affordable for a starter set up and works just as good as all the big name brands lol

@Luka Williams tbh I don't know enough about Amaran lights to have an opinion on them but I have heard good things. These godox lights are great but they are more for portraits as they are strobe lights - if that works with your setup then I do highly reccomend them!
Photoshoot tomorrow (Saturday 23)
Finally will be doing photoshoot with a creator that I reached out to. It a collaboration photoshoot,so it's for exposure 🙃 but I'm excited because I have been watching her TikTok videos for some time now and also I think that she's really beautiful 😊 Does this happen to you that when you see someone on the street or public transport(a man or a woman )and think "wow,I would love to do a photoshoot for you"😅 or it's just me?😅🤣🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, here's her TikTok and here's inspiration for her style that I found on Pinterest ✨ It should be super hot tomorrow...but hopefully we will survive 😅 Oh, and the last 2 photos is the place where we are taking pictures 🤗 it's a museum called Tokyo Palace in Paris 🤗 and the Eiffel Tower is also visible from that spot✨ So we have some a bit clichet photos but also something not too typical 🤗

@Anastasiia Dunaieva it's good practice, i'm just too shy to do it most of the time .. that's where I take the street style photos and run away 🤣
What’s your photo/video niche + offer?
I’ll go first with my current offer for my content agency: “I help gym owners in NYC get more memberships by delivering consistent tailored social media content!” Technically I also have another offer if you count the Skool community: “I help photographers and videographers scale their freelancing business by teaching them the agency model to make it fun and easy.” I’m asking because I’m genuinely curious about what everyone’s up to!

My niche is basically just capturing real life and making it fancy, lol. I help everyone from individuals and families to brands and event organizers get shots that feel effortless. I’ll give a little guidance so it's not awkward, but my whole thing is skipping the stiff corporate/passport vibes and going for more of the authentic moments
NICHE?!?
How do i solidify a niche ? I like all forms of photography honestly and have done all sorts of things but its hard for me to figure out the type i want to do for business

I feel you on this question - it's so hard! But if you're still in the discovery phase it's okay to not figure it all out yet. Things that helped me along the way is to take on the jobs that resonate with you the most or that you think you'd enjoy doing. I've also done personal or SPEC projects as well where you "pretend" to get a job and execute it as you would. Over time you might find that you lean one way or another which might help you narrow down what you'd like to do for paid work.

@Kamori Elliott nah I've been doing this for 7 years professionally (granted some was in a studio so I didn't need to think about jobs lol) and I still do all sorts of things. it might help to narrow it down to one so it's less stress, but you don't need one lane to be successful as long as you're authentic and enjoying yourself in my opinion! good luck and have fun with the practice jobs, hope they help!!
Leadgen fix
Hey I've been grinding gears over leadgen last week before I joined here. pretty sure I saw a few other people post about it too lol. anyway spent a day messing around with it and I think I figured something out (costs like $20/m): this workflow scrapes google maps businesses with poor foto's and some reviews. and then has AI right a personal opening line for each and then drops it into google sheets so you can review and send them. I'll post my workflow so you can import it yourself if anyone is interested with a download link to the my google drive and the file so anyone can import it. I also had AI wip up a readme so it's easy to set up link lmk if you've tried something different or have ideas. also down to walk anyone through it if you're stuck on something
